11.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Sarah Harrington! Sarah is a Registered Nurse at Loxton Hospital and winner of #RMCLHN's Young Achiever Award. Sarah began her registered nurs...ing career with enthusiasm and drive, demonstrating courage and constantly pushing herself beyond her comfort zone. She was inspired to undertake midwifery training and began her degree in 2019. She has taken on the additional commitment of full time study in her stride, with an unwavering smile. Despite the demands of study, frequent trips to Adelaide for placement and tutorials, she continues her numerous roles within the Loxton Hospital team, including the role of Work Health and Safety Officer, ward shifts, operating suite and on-call theatre work. Sarah demonstrates a level-headedness in her approach to all situations and she never fails to deliver a confident approach to care, even in emergency situations. This is a skill that gives those experiencing the emergency a sense of confidence and calm. She has endeared herself to the medical officers and staff of all departments with her friendly approach. Sarah was awarded a Loxton Hospital Health Advisory Council scholarship in 2019 and works hard to give back to the local community, who funded the scholarship, by being part of the Loxton Hospital Fundraising Committee. She has taken a lead role in two major fundraisers that raised more than $17,000, and is also a founding member of the Friends of the Loxton Hospital Complex. Sarah is a role model for the capability of young people. Pictured: Sarah with RMCLHN CEO Wayne Champion.
