18.01.2022 21st anniversary celebration On Sat we celebrate 21 years since we first began to care for nature reserves in Montmorency. In 2000, we noticed that Wooded Way reserve was being neglected, so 2 of us started to tidy up, removing litter and weeds. We asked the Council to fence off an area for regeneration and in May 2001, we held our first working bee there. This Sat, we are working at Belmont reserve- all welcome. Followed by celebrating with coffee and cake!

14.01.2022 This petition calls for genuine consultation over the railway works.

12.01.2022 BUSH GARDEN AT MONTY HUB corner Rattray Road and Mountainview. Thanks to all who have attended the Sat morning working bees. A lot of progress has been made- paths are now clean, weeds have been removed and the retaining wall repaired and the pine edging re-installed beside the car park. Our aim is to restore this excellent garden to its former glory, when it won a prize in a local garden competition.

10.01.2022 Our native plants have been blooming profusely all Spring. Even some of the rarer ones have been spotted in flower. eg the appleberry climber and the blue grass lily.

07.01.2022 BIRD SIGHTING I was thrilled to spot a eastern spinebill in my garden today. It was taking cover in a small apple tree and darting out to feed on the salvia flowers. Though spinebills used to be common aropund here, this is my first sighting for at least 5 years.
