22.01.2022 Today we wish Johann Sebastian Bach a very happy birthday! Superlatives can not describe his musical genius and impact on our lives to the present day. With such difficulty in choosing a single piece of Bach's music to share, we decided to on this recording of the Magnificat in Re major, BWV 243, performed by Collegium Vocale Gent conducted by Philippe Herreweghe featuring our Head of Music, Warren Trevelyan-Jones performing. Look out for him in the video! What are your favourite Bach pieces?

We share a video of Taryn, Anna Dowsley and The Choir of St James' Chloe Lankshear singing a heartful rendition of Seconda Prattica: Rossi's Dormite, begl’occhi. Requiescat in pace

07.01.2022 Today we celebrate the birthday of Thomas Arne. His melodic and elegant style added substantially to the English heritage of song. One of the most important English composers of the 18th century, he's flown slightly under the radar, despite having 1 or 2 of the most recognisable tunesin existence. Can you name a couple?
