17.01.2022 Friends of Nioka are working towards being able to meet in the St Andrews Hall by our May meeting, we will post the next meeting date as soon as we have confirmation of COVID compliance with Tamworth Uniting Church & Service NSW. If you would like an enjoyable night out supporting Friends of Nioka come along to the Fishing Club Raffle at Calala Inn from 6pm Thursday 25th March, it’s advisable to book a table if you’d like to have dinner.

14.01.2022 Friends of Nioka are pleased to announce the Arrival of a Snuggle Bed for the Nioka Ward. After Years of discussion and Research, the Bed has been approved for use in the Palliative Care ward, and has already been used by some patients and their families. The Bed allows family to snuggle the patients to give them comfort and companionship. We especially thank Mary-Anne Dieckmann for pursuing this project through to it’s successful delivery. The bed cost approximately $10,000. The use of the Bed wil be monitored, and if the program is proved to improve the experience of patients and their families, it is hoped that Snuggle Beds will become a common feature of palliative care rooms.

10.01.2022 Friends of Nioka has received a donation of $7680.92. These funds are from the Community Partnership Program which is an initiative of the Regional Australia Bank which allows their members to support their local community simply by transacting with a selected savings account and nominating their choice of organisation . A huge thankyou to Regional Australia Bank & their members who have supported us and other community causes.

04.01.2022 A reminder The Annual General Meeting of Friends of Nioka will be on this afternoon Wednesday 7th October at 5pm at Singh Property Group, 338 Armidale Road Tamworth. The premises can accommodate 13 people including the executive to comply with Covid Restrictions.
