22.01.2022 It’s great to be seeing so many artists from writers, musicians and actors, to painters sharing their skills for free with children While Covid-19 is physically separating us all, it’s also causing us to come together

21.01.2022 Over the weekend the Queensland Government announced further easing of COVID-19 restrictions including an earlier than expected move to Stage 2 of the Recovery ...Roadmap. While this stage allows for a limited reopening of museums and galleries, Noosa Regional Gallery is working to ensure that when we do reopen we can do so in a way that is safe for both our visitors and our staff. We look forward to making an announcement soon about when this will be.

18.01.2022 ‘The real purpose of (going to exhibition openings) is to...start building the networks that will sustain (an artist) throughout their career... Buyers and cura...tors like to see that the artist they are considering investing in can draw a crowd. Gallerists like to know people’s faces. (Attending exhibition openings) gets your face known and makes gallerists more sympathetic when you approach them with a proposal’ - excerpt from ‘Why Art Students Should Go To Gallery Openings’, written for The Guardian by Frederika Whitehead, 26/06/2013 Former mayor and popular local identity Bob Abbot opens our current exhibition A LIFE IN PATCHES to a record crowd on 31 January 2020 @friendsofthegallery @loani_prior @noosa_arts_crafts

13.01.2022 ‘This year we saw an unprecedented number of entries to DRAW Student Drawing Award 2020- no small feat given the interruptions most of these young people have f...aced this year both in and out of school. The consideration and maturity that so many of these works showed in both their artistic resolve and their subject matter made quite the impression and reaffirms the fact that the arts are integral to both creators and viewers in our efforts to make sense of and find our place in the World’ - Michael Brennan, Gallery Director, Noosa Regional Gallery We are so excited to announce the winners of this year’s DRAW Student Drawing Award 2020!
