10.01.2022 Dear keen Tasmanian gardeners and all those local to Bruny who have kindly shown an interest in being further involved in Inala and the Jurassic garden. Would ...you or your botanical friends like to be part of our fabulous new garden volunteer team to help us keep the flourishing Jurassic Botanic Garden looking gorgeous throughout the year and to join other like-minded local garden enthusiasts? We are organising an orientation day on Sept 13th starting with an interpretive guided tour of the garden with Tonia and Bori. This will be followed by a weeding session to learn what to pull out and how. Gloves, tools, gumboots and afternoon tea will be provided. BYO lunch. After the orientation day, you are welcome (and joyfully encouraged) to return to the Jurassic Garden at any day/time that suits you throughout the year to help with weeding. You will be fully covered by our comprehensive volunteer insurance policy and invited to join us at Inala team events and activities. No ongoing commitment is ever required. Thank you to the community ( that's you ) for encouraging us to set up a volunteer group and we will look forward to welcoming you to the Inala ‘Vollie Team’! Please email to let us know you would like to come on Sept 13th. If you are keen to be involved, but can’t make it to this first orientation day, please let us know. When: Sunday 13th Sept 2020 10am 2pm Where: Inala Jurassic Garden ( 320 Cloudy Bay Road) We provide: Gratitude, training, gloves, tools, gumboots and afternoon tea. 05.01.2022 FABULOUS STUFF FOR KIDS (AND PARENTS, AND TEACHERS) The wonderful writer and illustrator Coral Tulloch has been posting some really fun and educational stuff for kids on her facebook page recently. Of it, she wrote: "Many years ago I used to have a syndicated children’s page that ran in newspapers throughout Australia and Internationally. I would take a theme each week and weave information, activities and games around this.... "With the lockdown of COVID 19, like many of us, as authors and illustrators, I wanted to be able to do something, but didn’t know what I could do. The I thought of all the material from the children’s pages. Since March 20th I have been posting up a page a day, Monday to Friday on my art page in Facebook. "You can scroll back and choose any of the material, drag it to your desktop and print off. I hope that it may be of some use to some of you." It looks fantastic. Go and check it out and have fun. https://www.facebook.com/cloudyseas
