24.01.2022 The creek bank along 110 Roberts Street development is being rebuilt. The large white PVC pipe in the foreground is the outlet of the storm water collection. (Overflow from tanks, I believe). When FOSC spoke to the developer early on, the space between the building and the creek seemed larger.

23.01.2022 Pick up some litter along the creek!

22.01.2022 Given how many drink containers end up in and around the creek, this is worth your attention!

19.01.2022 Council elections are happening. Stony Creek starts in Brimbank, flows through Maribyrnong and at the estuary is the boundary of Hobsons Bay. Ask your local council candidates what their position is on issues affecting Stony Creek and other waterways. - pollution via storm water drains - pollution directly into the creek... - water sensitive urban design - storm water and wetland management - urban development on creeks - paths and connectivity - weed management and maintenance - planting and landscaping - acquisition of land along creek corridors - establishment of new parks, community gardens and shared spaces - creek management plans and their implementation - water quality monitoring and improvement targets - litter control - pest control (rabbits, foxes) It’s a big job. We need support from all our councils.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to FoSC member and regular volunteer at clean up and planting events: Bernadette Thomas on her election to Maribyrnong City Council, representing Stony Creek Ward. (How apt! ) We look forward to working with you and the rest of the newly elected council for the benefit of Stony Creek.
