15.01.2022 Please help share the event info :) looking forward to a great day at Mt Sturgeon.

15.01.2022 Save the date! Friends of the Forgotten Woodlands will be holding a forum to showcase the innovative work they have been doing over the last couple of years, through their Biodiversity On-ground Action community volunteer grants received from the Victorian Government. We will look at the 2 seed production areas for Banksias, Bursarias and Sheoaks that have been planted at Dunkeld and hear from a number of guest speakers Tuesday 2 April at Dunkeld, more details to follow.

12.01.2022 In the words of Dr Anna Carrucan .... 'it was a sensational day. The speakers were engaging and informative and I really enjoyed the botanical science discussions around restoration and ecology in the face of climate change. It’s so encouraging to see conservation and restoration ecology practice finally embracing the science, and planning for long-term species and ecosystem survival, and not just planting trees the same way as has been done for decades.' I am sure that ...all of the 60 plus attendees would agree with Anna's thoughts. A huge thanks and well done to all of our presenters... and also to Bill and Aggie who did the hard yards of putting the Banksia Forum together. Finally a thanks also to Cecelia and Hayley for providing the perfect venue at Dunkeld Pastoral which also permitted everyone to inspect one of our banksia Seed Production Areas. See more
