15.01.2022 Adrian Farrow was the best vice-president anyone could ever have asked for over 10 whole years at FoNAS. His dedication to the cause to Save the National Art School was truly outstanding. I hope Adrian is at NAS for the party tomorrow night - he so deserves a round of applause.

15.01.2022 As the National Art School commences a new, exciting and secure era I wish to publicly thank all the volunteers and office staff of the Friends of the National ...Art School (FoNAS) who gave thousands of hours of their own time to support NAS over the many years of my presidency. They never said "no" to any request (which often resulted in an outrageous imposition on their time and resources) and did it all with outstanding good humour, grace and valour. The era of FoNAS is now complete but here is a reminder of some (and it is only some) of our achievements: 1.Securing funding for the Le Cite studio in Paris 2.Overseeing and managing the Le Cite studio in Paris including the administration of the application and selection process 3.Providing Graduate Prizes for many years 4.Establishing an exhibition space at the Children's Hospital at Randwick and managing the selection of exhibitors and their openings 5.Managing the exhibition spaces at St Vincent Hospital with their Art Committee as well as the selection of exhibitors 6. Organising protest marches to Parliament House 7. Too many meetings with MP's and their advisers and lobby lobby lobbying 8.Organising petitions 9. Organising and managing the Tree Planting Day at NAS where Margaret Ollie planted a tree too 10.Establishing the National Art School Theatre Society (NASTS) to bring back live student theatre to the Cell Block 11.The mighty Plate Auctions 12.Funding the Centre for Drawing on Burton Street 13. Sponsoring materials for NAS Drawing Week 14. Standing a candidate in the State Election 15. The Worth Fighting For Exhibition covered by ABC television and all newspapers where some of Australia's most eminent artists donated work 16. Successfully helping to keep the independence of the National Art School, and its predicament, on the discussion table, in the media and never out of the spotlight Tonight we party and congratulate Steven Alderton and all the staff on their fantastic success.
