25.01.2022 IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN - SANTA is JOINING FRIENDS of the POUND over two weekends at PET BARN in South Tweed Heads to capture that SPECIAL XMAS PICTURE with YOU and your Furries. Be sure to set the dates of SAT 12 DEC, SUN 13 DEC, SAT 19 DEC & SUN 20 DEC aside to join the Friends of the Pound Volunteers in their annual XMAS PHOTO FUND RAISER. There will be XMAS CAT & DOG STOCKINGS, FOP merchandise and Raffle tickets available for purchase on the day.... Although no bookings are required FOP and Pet Barn will be practicing safe COVID procedures to ensure everyone has a safe and happy Christmas. If you can't make it for the photo be sure to check out the adoption Centres for special Xmas items offered for sale. 20.01.2022 ****MAGGIE (nee Junee) has been adopted and now with her fur ever family***** This is what Maggie's new fur family have to say 'Nearly one month ago we adopted our beautiful Maggie girl. She was a rescue dog from friends of the pound Tweed Heads. ... Her original name was Junee, but we have since changed her name to Maggie-Varcoe. She is a very timid girl, and she has had a very rough start to life. She is 18 months old, so she has lots of time to learn some cool new tricks. Maggie is an English Staffy X Australia Terrier. Maggie is a very social dog, and she is getting out and meeting new people every single day. Some of the things Maggie loves to do is go swimming at the beach, play tug of war with her toys, chase each other around the house, and sleep. She also LOVES LOVES LOVES treats. Whenever you say the word treat... her little scruffy face lights up. We adopted Maggie from Tracey, the lovely foster career who volunteers for Friends of the pound. Tracey is a very caring and kind person who loves her dogs so so much. Maggie is bonding with us every single day, and she goes absolutely mental excited when we get home. She is coming out of her shell, and she is becoming less scared of people every single day. ' Thank you for giving Maggie a second chance at love and a Furever home. 09.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS from DUFF & ANASTASIA Duff ginger boy & Anastasia are both enjoying Christmas at home with their family Di & Kiara. Duff was adopted from Friends of the Pound 3 years ago and now this year he has another friend Anastasia, also adopted from Friends of the Pound. Both saved from a horrible fate in Rural pounds.
