25.01.2022 The Upper Hunter community has succeeded in reining in the ambitions of the risky Dartbrook Underground Mine with the Independent Planning Commission announcing today that while the mine would retain its existing approval to operate to December 2022, the company's application for a further five year approval to 2027 was denied. While we're disappointed that this proposal achieved any level of approval we want to thank the 1200+ community members who helped secure this important result. We don't believe it would have happened without you! We're currently undertaking a detailed review of the Commission's draft conditions of consent. You can read it here: https://www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au//dartbrook-coal-mine-mod-7--st

22.01.2022 Everyone just a reminder (and I know many of you are already sitting here with us) that the Independent Planning Commission is hearing public submissions on the Dartbrook Underground Proposal today. We have a strong line up of speakers about to commence. Even if you aren't speaking - please come along and show your support! We expect the meeting to go to at least 4.30pm.... Venue is the Upper Hunter Conservatorium in Muswellbrook, above Campbell's Corner. Also don't forget to get in your objections.... the community is very much the underdog in this matter and every objection counts! Visit www.nodartbrook.com

21.01.2022 Proponent just claimed they have 500 submissions in SUPPORT of the Dartbrook Mine! Get your objections in and talk to your family, friends and neighbours!! www.nodartbrook.com

20.01.2022 A new feature on the New England Highway between Scone and Muswellbrook... looks like it's already getting people on the phone!

20.01.2022 Don’t let Dartbrook be the straw that breaks the Hunter’s back. Object by Tuesday at www.nodartbrook.com This footage was shot on one of the 86 occasions so far in 2019 that coarse particle pollution in the Upper Hunter exceeded national air quality standards. It was 7pm on Jan 27 and air quality monitors at Muswellbrook and Aberdeen had readings of around FOUR TIMES the national standard. The proposed Dartbrook Underground Mine will make this situation even worse with unwashed coal being trucked overland, crushed and loaded on trains just 1.3km from Aberdeen.

20.01.2022 Just how much of our valley do these foreign companies want? Australian Pacific Coal painted the picture in it's Dartbrook Underground application. Dartbrook is the thin end of a very big wedge. Visit www.nodartbrook.com before Tuesday COB and tell the Independent Planning Commission NO!

19.01.2022 Didn't really expect any answers.

15.01.2022 Breaking news on the Dartbrook Mine Proposal. Mine owners, AQC, are attempting to overturn last year's refusal and have submitted new information in an attempt to reopen this safety-plagued mine just 1.3km from Aberdeen and adjacent to the Hunter River. . Our community has a final opportunity to make our views clear by COB on Friday 4 September 2020.... Make your submission to [email protected] or post to Office of the Independent Planning Commission Level 3, 201 Elizabeth St Sydney NSW 2000. 14.01.2022 Don't let Dartbrook be the straw that break's the Hunter's back!

11.01.2022 Please attend and share with all Aberdeen, Scone and Muswellbrook friends.

11.01.2022 Last Sunday night, more than 100 community members and farmers gathered for the Dartbrook Mine Community Forum at the Aberdeen RSL Club. Mine CEO John Robinson Jnr made an impromptu appearance and agreed to take questions from the community. He asked to take a number of these important questions on notice. Others were posed in written feedback from the night. We’ve put your list of questions to John and we’ll keep you posted on his reply. Check out the list here: www.nodartbrook.com/your-questions

08.01.2022 Objections close Tuesday COB www.nodartbrook.com Where is Aberdeen? Australian Pacific Coal don't seem to know. In their application to restart the mothballed Dartbrook Underground Mine they describe it as being 4.5km from Aberdeen.... no mention of the CHPP where they crush the coal, shunt and load trains <1.3km from town. Share if you think that a company planning to set up shop on the doorstep of town should at least know where it is and have prior experience in underground mining. #NoDartbrook

07.01.2022 Not the clear 'no' we were hoping for, but the community has dented Australian Pacific Coal's aspirations for its safety-troubled Dartbrook Mine.

06.01.2022 TIME EXTENDED - our community has until this Friday 11 September to tell the Independent Planning Commission NO DARTBROOK. Mine owners, AQC, are attempting to overturn the decision last year to refuse the extension of their outdated approval to 2027. They have submitted new information as part of their bid to reopen this mothballed mine just 1.3km from Aberdeen and adjacent to the Hunter River. They have have made some changes to their proposal from last year - namely, that ...they want to recommission the Hunter Tunnel and the washery and they will quadruple production to 6 million tonnes per year. That's four times as much coal and four times as many trains being shunted and loaded at any time of the day or night just 1.3km from Aberdeen. Mine owners, Australian Pacific Coal, have no experience operating a mine and have never retracted their advice to the ASX that they hope to use the underground mine to generate capital while developing plans for a 370 million tonne open cut mine at the same location. Our community has a final opportunity to make our views clear by COB on Friday 11 September 2020. Make your submission to [email protected] Find the information here: https://www.ipcn.nsw.gov.au//dartbrook-coal-mine-modificat

05.01.2022 Nearly three weeks since Australian Pacific Coal CEO John Robinson Jnr committed to answer community questions but no reply. Do you think this is good enough? Share if you think the community deserves answers!

04.01.2022 Too Close for Comfort! Object by Tuesday at www.nodartbrook.com The owners of the Dartbrook Mine want to reopen and modify the mothballed mine where three workers died. They also have a future plan for an open cut mine roughly the size of Mount Pleasant on the doorstep of Aberdeen, Muswellbrook and the Hunter River. We have until Tuesday to make our concerns heard on this risky underground. Object now at www.nodartbrook.com
