20.01.2022 This week (8 Nov -15 Nov 2020) is NAIDOC Week. The Noongar people of south-west australia refer to the western swamp tortoise as Yarkiny. They are known to favour the eggs of the turtle for food, where nests were found by the ring of yellow sand left after the female had buried her clutch.
