09.01.2022 President of FPET is in Timor/Atabae at present. In conjunction with Palms volunteer, Veronica, FPET is reviewing all programs with a view to a local group Friends and Partners with Australia (FPA) gradually taking over control and responsibility for Community Projects supported by FPET. Many discussions are being held with Catholic Parish representatives and local community leaders. Importantly FPET President will hand over control and responsibility of FPET built Community Centre to local parish community at Mass tomorrow. FPET thanks the Parish Community for allowing FPET to operate a health clinic from the building. The Timor Leste Government now operates a similar health program from government premises in Atabae . FPET continues to support the Mother and Child Nutrition and Health Program managed by Health Dept Atabae.

07.01.2022 In Atabae this week to review programs and strengthen relationships with FPA committee and the local parish. Great work is being undertaken by all - English language programs, mother and child health education programs, empowering local FPA committee, a Women's Sewing Group and more. Atabae is still dry and dusty but the people are happy. Electricity is now available 24 hours a day but water is still a problem. Government elections this weekend sees lots of people return to own towns and villages to vote.

06.01.2022 President, Lindsay Stokes is travelling to Timor Leste and will be in Atabae until late July 2017 for meetings with FPA, the Parish Priest Fr Greg, the FPET team, our Palms' volunteer Veronica and many others.

05.01.2022 Today the Community Health Centre built by FPET was formally handed back to the Atabae Parish on whose land the building had been constructed. Hand over was done at Mass and witnessed by a full congregation. More photos will follow upon my return to Australia later this week. Other photo is me with the oldest Public Servant still working in Timor Leste. He is 85 years old and still goes to work every day.
