24.01.2022 A fantastic program empowering our girls and young women. Check it out at www.girlsonfire.com.au

21.01.2022 The crew at Fire + Rescue Port Macquarie brushed up on our Hazmat training tonight, setting up a scenario with a leaking drum containing an unknown chemical. The team got to work, putting their skills into practice and eventually rendered the scene safe. Drills such as this one is how we keep our skills up-to-date to ensure we’re ready to handle any situation that we may face. It also helps to give our community the confidence in knowing that we’re ready and #preparedforanything

20.01.2022 With bushfire season on our doorstep, are you prepared? A well prepared home is more likely to survive a bush fire. Even if your plan is to leave early, the more you prepare your home, the more likely it and your possessions will survive a bush fire or ember attack. ... A well prepared home can also be easier for you or firefighters to defend, and is less likely to put your neighbours' homes at risk. A well prepared home will also give you more protection if a fire threatens suddenly and you cannot leave. Here are some basic maintenance tips to prepare your property: Clean gutters of leaves & twigs Install metal gutter guards Repair damaged / missing roof tiles Install fine metal mesh screens on windows and doors Fit seals around doors and windows to eliminate gaps Enclose the areas under the house Repair or cover gaps in external walls Attach a fire sprinkler system to gutters Keep lawns short and gardens well maintained Cut back trees and shrubs overhanging buildings Clean up fallen leaves, twigs and debris around the property Have hoses long enough to reach around your house If you have a pool, tank or dam, put a Static Water Supply (SWS) sign on your property entrance, so firefighters know where they can get water Check and maintain adequate levels of home and contents insurance & it is up to date. Contact your local Fire + Rescue or RFS station if you have any questions and remember that if you act now, you increase the chance of saving your home and property.

16.01.2022 Remembering the Brothers and Sisters we Lost 19 years ago.

15.01.2022 The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after World War I has become a day to remember all those who served and all those who sacrificed in wars and conflicts since. We will remember them

15.01.2022 When you hear or see an Emergency vehicle please pull over and slow down if you are in it's path. Our Fire Engines take alot of room to manouver safely - please give us the space we need.

08.01.2022 Did you know that your swimming pool could have a bigger purpose this summer! With bushfire season commencing, we urge any residents that have a pool, water tank or dam to sign up to our Static Water Supply (SWS) program. By displaying this free sign on your letterbox, firefighters can identify where there is an emergency water supply available to protect your home, property and possessions.... Contact your local fire station to sign up now and be bushfire ready. #PreparedForAnything #MoreThanFire #ProtectTheIrreplaceable
