25.01.2022 Tomorrows (Monday 16th November 2020) temperature due to hit the mid 30's, the Fire Danger Rating has been set to VERY HIGH. Don't become complacent, with rain comes growth. Fires, in particular grass fires can spread very quickly only days after rain. If you see an unattended fire, call 000.

22.01.2022 " NEWSFLASH " SANTA CLAUS is coming to town. Our Christmas Santa run will be next Wednesday, 23rd December from 5.30 PM... Santa Claus will be accompanied by your local retained Fire+Rescue fire fighters from Wyong 505, and Bernie Cinders! We will be following the highlighted route below throughout the afternoon- just listen out for the carols and the siren, and come out and say hello to Santa, and the crew! Our fire fighters look forward to spreading some holiday cheer with Bernie and Santa, and seeing all the big grins on the faces of our local community. Please note, we will be operating under the current social distancing guidelines.

22.01.2022 Today Wyong Firefighters attended their annual brigade holiday by responding to Bucketty at the request of the NSWRFS for assistance at a house fire, needing breathing apparatus backup. This was a long and windy response for our fire fighters, with one showing symptoms of motion sickness and another suffering a mild to medium case of home sickness. Some of our fire fighters don't even travel this far for their own private holidays.... Everyone responding arrived safely to find a solar power shortage had occurred with the isolator being destroyed by fire. With multiple RFS crews on scene and under the advice of electrician, the area was rendered safe. Great work to all responding stations, we are hoping to send postcards home later this afternoon.

20.01.2022 Today, both pumper and tanker have attended the FRNSW Emergency Services Academy in Sydney. This was a great opportunity for our crew to hone their skills in a variety of live simulation props. These skills range from pumping, fire fighting, foam, boosters systems to incident management. We would like to thank our neighbouring Stations, FRNSW Berkeley Vale 228 and FRNSW Hamlyn Terrace 434 who have had to cover our area for the day.

15.01.2022 CENTRAL COAST NSW 2020 As part of the Central Coast Christmas Cheer, Fire + Rescue NSW continue to support The Salvation Army as they have done for many years. ...Fire + Rescue open their doors annually, and with a media campaign, appeal to the public to support those less fortunate by donating new toys to the 15 Fire Stations across the Central Coast. In 2019, the campaign assisted The Salvation Army to provide support for over 420 families, gifting over 1700 presents, as well as the provision of food hampers and vouchers. This year the campaign will run from December 1st through to December 18th, and we are hoping that this year will be even better.' 08.01.2022 Today marks 3 years since we lost one of our own. Retained Fire Firefighter Scott (Camel) Anlezark who passed away on 22 October 2017 after a short battle with illness. Camel was the life and smile of Wyong 505. Every year on this day along with the station Christmas party, we raise a glass/boot in his memory. Camel was a true gentleman, a huge teddy bear and had the biggest heart known to man. He is missed everyday with Camel stories continually being shared all the time a...nd with the new recruits. Camel will always be part of Wyong 505 and we all know he is looking down on us. Thankyou Camel. Retained Fire Fighter Anlezark gave over 15 years service to the Central Coast community serving with both Kariong and Wyong Brigades. We continue to turn out with him when the bells drop after naming Tanker 505 in his memory.

03.01.2022 This evening 505 conducted a Hazmat drill. We started the evening with a visit from the MN2 zone commander to present RFF Alderdice with her long service and good conduct medal after 10 years of service with Fire & Rescue NSW. Drill comprised of two scenarios, one scenario utilised the use of FE (fully encapsulated) suits that require us to wear breathing apparatus inside the suit. Crews were tasked to identify and contain various substances. The second scenario utilised splash suits and a gas detector to test for various hazardous atmospheres.
