20.01.2022 During yesterday’s storms Unanderra were sent to Sydney to assist. Responding to 20 calls from the Sutherland Shire, around the City or Sydney and as far Chatswood. Here’s some footage responding over the Harbour Bridge to a call.

19.01.2022 Unfortunately during this time we are unable to perform our community safety programs such as primary and pre school education, home fire safety checks, senior education or hydrant inspections. We've had to change a few things around our station such as daily disinfecting of our truck, equipment and commonly used surfaces to ensure we can look after ourselves and maintain our availability to assist our community. Also please remember to save 000 for life or property threatening emergencies

12.01.2022 *Reunited* Anyone missing a dog in Unanderra/Cordeaux?

12.01.2022 Lots of interesting live streams happening today from many fire stations around the state. We've had to postpone our annual station open day, hopefully we can reopen our doors to the community soon. If you would like any kids activity packs in the meantime send us a message and we can arrange a contact free pickup.

12.01.2022 Thousands of NSW's Firefighters saw 2019 out wearing goggles and standing on the end of a fire hose. We captured just a few of their stories on the NSW South Co...ast. The man that was transported to hospital was later discharged and is apparently recovering. Our thoughts are with him and everyone who has been affected by these relentless bushfires. #PreparedForAnything #MoreThanFire #NSWFires #FRNSW #ProtectTheIrreplacable #frnswmedia

03.01.2022 With more of us spending increased time indoors it's a good time to check your smoke alarms are working. Working smoke alarms help save lives! All smoke alarms should be checked at least once a month and vacuumed once every six months - this keeps your smoke alarm free of particles to help reduce false alarms and ensure smoke can easily reach the internal sensor. If your smoke alarm is older than 10 years the alarm should be replaced with a new 10 year battery smoke alarm.... #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Unanderra's latest recruits Josh and Jimmy on completing their first phase of training in Deniliquin this week. The boys are excited to finally be able to respond to incidents on the truck once they get back

02.01.2022 There are multiple fires burning from Cooma to Bega and a number of these pose a serious threat to life. We urge you to seriously consider if you should be in this area tomorrow. There may potentially be new fires burning in these areas that we do not yet know about, which may threaten you without warning. This map displays the predicted fire spread in areas surrounding Greater Sydney for New Year’s Eve 2019. The map indicates the communities that may come under threat from e...mbers or fire fronts. Other areas surrounding the fire may still come under threat if conditions change or fires break containment lines, such as on the south east edge of the Grose Valley fire (Blue Mountains). Severe fire danger is forecast for this area tomorrow and conditions will be very dangerous due to high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity. A southerly change is expected to pass across these fires tomorrow which will see erratic wind and fire behaviour. It is likely that under these conditions, major roads including the Castlereagh Highway and Hume Highway, may be cut due to fire activity. You should consider this as part of your travel plans. www.rfs.nsw.gov.au

01.01.2022 Unfortunately a terrible outcome this afternoon. Please remember Cordeaux Rd is still closed at this time whilst investigations are conducted.
