23.01.2022 4. Swapping clothes saves resources and reduces our footprint . . . Ok ok so you have probably heard this QUITE a bit.. but it's pretty darn important. Did you know that by sourcing a preloved garment, it reduces it's carbon, waste and water footprint by up to 73% and prevent it from being landfilled?... New clothes require some amount of resources and energy, even those from ethical and sustainable brands. Ultimately we need to buy less. A report produced by @c40cities identified the changes that need to take place in order to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. It states that we would need to limit clothing purchases to 3 new items per year and work towards a fashion industry based mainly around recycling, upgrading, renting and reusing clothes, alongside a 75% reduction in supply chain waste. 18.01.2022 GETTING RID OF CLOTHES CAN BE DAMN HARD We often keep pieces that no longer fit us in the hope that we may be able to squeeze back into them in the future. Or on the flip side, we're worried we'll possible gain weight and end up needing those larger sizes again.
