25.01.2022 All set up & enjoying a lovely venue again! Glengallan Homestead Autumn market. Here till 1pm. Come by & grab some bargains!

25.01.2022 Allora & surrounds enjoy planting & harvesting Sunflowers during Summer. Now listen. These crops are grown for profit. They are NOT tourist attractions! Our local farmers sow these crops when the price is right! This crop is their livelihood! DO NOT trespass unless you want to be bitten by a brown snake! DO bring a step ladder to lift you to a position to get the most lovely pic! (outside of fences etc) DON"T cross a national Hwy by foot with a 100km speed limit - you WILL be taken out by a truck/car. Unfortunately some very stupid peeps did the same this week, causing a closure of a national Hwy and 5 taken to hospital. Use some common sense?

03.01.2022 Meet #100FacesQld Jackie Robertson from Frog & Swallow Gourmet Preserves. Feeling burnt out in her corporate role, Jackie decided to pursue her passion for cook...ing and took on a new challenge - producing gourmet preserves. Her range of preserves are now sold online as wedding/corporate gifts, and supplied to retail outlets and sold direct at regional markets. Frog and Swallow is committed to the #golocalqld philosophy and Jackie sources all her ingredients from within a 100km radius ensuring only the freshest, local seasonal produce is used. Check out their #QLDsmallbiz story at www.business.qld.gov.au/100faces. See more

01.01.2022 I was born in Wales. Until this week I had never cooked nor eaten my national dish. It is called Cawl - pronounced Cowl. The traditional method is a bit like Osso Buco - which means a two day effort. Anyone that knows me well knows that I'm an impatient cook! So, I decided to "adjust" this recipe taking into account time, health, effort and with maximum flavour/minimum effort. I'm freakin addicted to this recipe, to the point that I ate it 4 days in a row! Richard I suggest this might have been the thought behind our Mam's corned beef stew? But so much better! In the comments is the recipe for a 35min pressure cooker method, and a 2hr traditional stove top method! Anyhoo here is the recipe, in comments.
