25.01.2022 It is now Sunday evening and the fires are still very active. We have been very, very lucky with the the wind at no stage blowing the fire towards us. It came about 10kms away from us along the Rosedale-Longford Road. It now covers a very large area of State Park and pine forests, and there is a huge job ahead to put out all the little fires still burning. Full credit to amazing firefighters who have been involved in controlling this fire. Many thanks to all those who have been concerned about our welfare! We are fine, the cottages are fine and we are very grateful we have been so lucky.

25.01.2022 Trip Advisor reviews have been gold for us! Many thanks to this happy customer, unfortunately I cannot work out who it was, so a big thank you whoever you are!! Peace , Serenity , Bird Life , and comfort 5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW ... Entering the working cattle property, the track meanders through the paddock well stocked with fine looking beef cattle and takes us to the perfectly positioned cottages. Although closely set near each other, the cabins offer plenty of privacy with amazing views over the wetlands that fill the view of the big windows. Our cabin was beautiful, roomy, airy, light, spotlessly clean, equipped with a well appointed kitchen and comfortable furniture, each of the 2 bedrooms had a full ensuite and a large deck that was the perfect spot for our favorite bottle of wine. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back. https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/ShowUserReviews-g2346221-d11#

24.01.2022 It was great to have our first international Trip Advisor review - in Dutch! I think the translation was pretty close - Peter B, Netherlands Jan 2017 Lovely place with lovely view. There are two luxurious and spacious cottages in a beautiful spot overlooking a river offshoot containing several waterfowl, among others hunting pelicans and osprey. Theres even a pair of binoculars to view them properly. An excellent full breakfast basket upon arrival is waiting for you. A lovely deck which is regularly visited by parrots in various colors and even birdseed. A washing machine and there are plenty of opportunities dry. The owner was friendly and helpful. Thanks Peter B!!

24.01.2022 We are devastated to learn that our ‘sister’ accommodation business Stringybark Cottages near Bruthen has been completely destroyed in the bushfires. While the general situation is shocking, it is like a body blow when it becomes personal. Our thoughts and prayers go to Lois and Neil in this tragic loss.

22.01.2022 An absolute must-see exhibition of Crystals fabulous work.

22.01.2022 Another beautiful morning as the pelicans gather for breakfast. They are loving all the water still in the wetland - just listen to all the birds!!

17.01.2022 With mountains on one side, the sea on the other and rolling green hills and lakes in between, the Wellington region of Gippsland is smack-bang in The Middle of... Everywhere. Just a short drive from Melbourne, but far enough away. Filled with hidden gems to see and enjoy. A great place to visit, live, work, invest and grow. See more

11.01.2022 Well, July 2005 we started Frog Gully Cottages, so we are now celebrating 15 years!!! Not sure that we thought we would last that long. With no guests for 3 months we are slowly getting back to business, will be limiting the number of bookings to keep us safe! Still peaceful, quiet and beautiful in winter.

11.01.2022 It had been a few years since this beautiful tree flowered, but this year had been perfect for flowering gums. Even have the Fiddler beetles back!

10.01.2022 What better place to be on a hot windy day than the beautiful Tarra Valley? Little boys loved it, thought it was just like Jurassic World and expected a raptor to dash across the path any moment.. or maybe they heard a brachiosaurus?? Inspired by Gippsland, Inspired by Central Gippsland, Victoria

10.01.2022 Our winter has been dry but some lovely rain last week has filled the wetland and the water is back, with the swans and some very happy frogs!!

10.01.2022 Spring is on the way, the water is back and the frogs are happy (sound on!!). Just need to see how much damage has been done to our trees and shrubs after our August 1st minus 6 degrees frost!!

08.01.2022 ... and only a few kms from Frog Gully Cottages! So much to see around us!

07.01.2022 We have not had a lot of rain, but the flood is down and the frogs are going wild! And the white-faced heron had a bit to say, too!!

06.01.2022 Some of the great things you can do when you stay at Frog Gully Cottages !!

05.01.2022 Had to move out of our house for the painters, so our turn to enjoy staying in our cottage- not a problem when you can lie in bed and enjoy the view!

04.01.2022 Finally, at last, hooray - we now have a gallery space in Sale with a permanent exhibition of the amazing textile art of Annemieke Mein. Situated in the Gippsland Gallery in the spectacular redevelopment at the Port of Sale, it is great to be able to offer visitors the chance to see her work and the processes she uses to develop her pieces. Annemiekes exhibitions have always attracted record numbers of visitors. It is a must do when in Sale.

03.01.2022 A wonderful memory with Kari and Aviva, so sad that Kari died and I guess Aviva no longer enjoys their lovely island.

03.01.2022 Have not heard the frogs, especially the Pobblebonks, going this mad, for a long time! We are still wanting rain, as it is very dry, but we have had a really good flood in the morass.

03.01.2022 Well done Alan and Darryl, an excellent experience on board the Rubeena.

03.01.2022 Yesterday was World Frog Day ! I can only say there were frogs out there, somewhere. Too hot and dry for them now, will have to wait till Spring to hear them again!

03.01.2022 So lucky to have the fabulous Tara Valley nearby!

02.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has visited #centralgippsland recently, the assistance provided to our East Gippsland neighbours and holidaymakers from both visitors ...and locals has been incredible. There are so many wonderful things to see and do in Central Gippsland, like a visit to the Sale wetlands which was captured beautifully by @placesweluv earlier this week. You can head to the Central Gippsland website for more spaces and places to visit now

02.01.2022 Thank you Lilian, there is lots to do around Sale!

01.01.2022 The Sale Common wetlands are looking magnificent with so much water and the swan population is thriving.
