21.01.2022 24.04.2021 Milestones that we are aware of, one from last week that we weren’t aware of, and one for this week. Congratulations to Peter Thorne who completed his unofficial milestone of 100 parkruns at Frog Hollow last week! Congratulations to Matthew Morris on reaching his 25 volunteer milestone!... Peter Thorne unofficial milestone of 100 runs at Frog Hollow Peter’s parkrun journey began at Berwick Springs on 22/02/2014. Last weekend he completed his 168th parkrun, his 100th at Frog Hollow (Single ton in Running Challenges). His best time is 25:40, run at Berwick Springs on 01/03/2014. His best time at Frog Hollow is 25:51, run on 29/11/2014, at the first of his 100 runs. Peter has run at 6 different parkrun events, including 39 times at Birdsland Reserve, 23 times at Berwick Springs, 3 times at Lillydale Lake, twice at Mullum Mullum, and once at Dandenong. He reached his 50 parkrun milestone on 27/02/2016 and his 100 parkrun milestone on 17/03/2018 The most parkruns he has completed in a calendar year is 32, in 2019. He has volunteered 4 times. Matthew Morris - 25 volunteer milestone Matthew has volunteered at 4 different parkrun events to date 14 times at Berwick Springs, 7 times at Frog Hollow, twice at Pakenham and once at Jells. He has volunteered in a number of roles, including timekeeper, pacer, photographer, barcode scanning, funnel manager and token sorting. Timekeeping is the role he volunteers for most often, with this weekend being his twelfth time. Congratulations on earning the privilege of wearing a purple 25 volunteer shirt!

21.01.2022 (not)parkrun If you've been reading your communication from parkrun, you'll know that this week sees the start of an initiative called (not)parkrun. It won't count towards your parkruns, but lets see how many of our Frog Hollow parkrun family are still out walking or running 5ks, anywhere, on any day of the week. If you walk or run 5ks during the week, go into your parkrun profile & log your result under (not)parkrun. If you log more than one time, your fastest will be autom...atically picked up for the results page. If you go to the official Frog Hollow parkrun website, click on results, select (not)parkrun and see your name. It takes a bit of time after you've registered your time before it displays in results. Come on Frog Hollow parkrunners, let's see how many of our "family" can register a 5k time each week. I think each new week starts on Monday. See more

21.01.2022 Its parkrun eve. This week we are not reminding you to bring your barcode. This week we remind you that parkrun is cancelled until further notice.... By all means go and find a patch near your home to go for a run. parkrun does NOT suggest getting together in groups to run. Feel free to contact our team if you just want to chat to the froggy team so your in touch. Feel free to start a virtual coffee chat on our page tomorrow morning.

19.01.2022 A Challenge for our Froggy Family. You all saw the awesome post we shared from Highlands parkrun. We challenge our Froggy family to create a Froggy parkrun out of lego and post to our page.... The best lego froggy parkrun may get a special prize.

18.01.2022 Good morning Frog Hollow peeps! The volunteer roster for Saturday is looking good though another barcode scanner would be welcome. This could be a runner who takes up scanning after they’ve done their run! Credit towards a vollie T shirt AND a running t shirt. How good is that! Also if you have volunteered to help out (yeah!!!) please download the parkrun volunteer app if you haven’t done this already.

17.01.2022 01.05.2021 Milestones that we are aware of Congratulations to Neil Gray on achieving his 25 volunteer milestone. Congratulations to Kathleen Wallington (visiting from St Peters, in New South Wales) on completing her 250 milestone last weekend. It had been scheduled to take place at Frog Hollow this weekend, but happened earlier.... Neil Gray - 25 volunteer milestone Since 13/02/2016, Neil hasn’t run at any other event except Frog Hollow, completing 156 runs since then. He is a true stalwart of Frog Hollow parkrun! Neil volunteered twice at Berwick Springs before becoming a regular at Frog Hollow. This weekend will be the 23rd time he has volunteered at Frog Hollow. He has volunteered in a number of roles, including barcode scanning, finish tokens, timekeeper, and backup timer, when that was an official role. Neil most frequently volunteers as a timekeeper. This weekend will be the 17th time he has filled this role. Congratulations on becoming a member of the 25 volunteer club and earning the privilege of wearing a purple volunteer shirt. Kathleen Wallington (home parkrun, St Peters in New South Wales) 250 parkruns Kathleen’s parkrun journey began at St Peters parkrun, in New South Wales on 8/12/2012, Her 250 parkruns to date have been done at 142 events, including 97 in New South Wales, 25 in Victoria,13 in Queensland, 4 in the Australian Capital Territory, and 3 in Tasmania. The most parkruns Kathleen has done at a single event is 36 at St Peters. She has done only a single run at 118 events. She has a PB of 22;07, run at Lake Mac on 08/02/2014. All of her milestones have been reached at different parkruns in New South Wales: 50 milestone on 18/04/2015 at Stockton; 100 milestone on 24/12/2016 at Rhodes; 250 milestone on 24/04/2021, at the launch of Leeton Sport and Recreation Precinct parkrun; and her 25 volunteer milestone on 10/08/2019, at St Peters. The most parkruns she has done in a calendar year is 45, in 2019. Kathleen has volunteered on 31 occasions, at 12 different events, in 6 different roles. She most frequently volunteers to do barcode scanning or tail walking. Just a note from Kathleen, in case anyone is interested in checking out her posts, or at least checking the photos she posts after her visit to Frog Hollow this weekend: I am known on the Aussie parkrun (unofficial) Facebook page for my tourism posts referred to as Wally’s Dirty Dozen, where I post my best 12 photos each week of the parkrun I have attended, to try and persuade others to travel to that event and see how beautiful it is. I am passionate about Australia, and love showing different areas in all their glory.

17.01.2022 ***QR code check-in*** One of the Victorian Government requirements for events such as parkrun is that our participants need to check in electronically to each event using a QR code (similar to what happens when you visit a restaurant). This can be done on the day either by using the QR code attached, or on event morning at Frog Hollow we will have laminated sheets with the QR code either pinned up or displayed on the table where you can scan or check in using your phone. The... QR code will also be available on our website in the next couple of days. See you next Saturday!
