10.01.2022 Plenty of interest in the Gosford heat of the Provincial Championship Qualifier being run at Newcastle Racecourse today. A final field of 14 will line up at 5.30pm with the Kim Waugh trained Trumbull, to be ridden by Grant Buckley, the $3.70 favourite, over Kris Lees Racing's Asharani, with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle. The first of nine races at Newcastle gets underway at 12.30pm.

Brodie Loy rides the gelding, who is coming off a second in the Canberra Racing Club Cup, with the feature race to be run at 4.55pm. Port Macquarie Race Club host an eight-race program, the first kicking off at 1.35pm.

07.01.2022 An exciting finish in the Provincial Qualifier at Newcastle Racecourse today with the Kris Lees Racing trained Asharani taking out the $150,000 race with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle. Angela Davies Racing trained Through The Cracks and General Sound, from the Perry stable, will also contest the $500,000 final Royal Randwick on April 11.

06.01.2022 A big day in the saddle for Brenton Avdulla yesterday with the leading hoop booting home four winners at the Newcastle Racecourse meeting. Avdulla bagged the feature race, the $150 Provincial Qualifier on Asharani for Kris Lees Racing racing completing a double for the stable and also had wins for Gerald Ryan and Snowden Racing.
