25.01.2022 An exciting finish in the Provincial Qualifier at Newcastle Racecourse today with the Kris Lees Racing trained Asharani taking out the $150,000 race with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle. Angela Davies Racing trained Through The Cracks and General Sound, from the Perry stable, will also contest the $500,000 final Royal Randwick on April 11.

24.01.2022 A huge day in the saddle for James McDonald at Rosehill Gardens yesterday with the top jock booting home five winners. McDonald partnered with Chris Waller Racing for three features, including the $200,000 Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes on Funstar. At St Pats Race Club Broken Hill apprentice Maddison Lloyd also rode five winners, five of those for Swan Hill trainer Nathan Hobson.

22.01.2022 Coonamble Jockey Club host the final Qualifier of the Country Championship today, with a field of 14 contesting the $150,000 race. Kody Nestor Racing and Greg Ryan (pictured) combine with the $3 favourite Fast Talking, a last start Mudgee Race Club Inc winner. The Wildcard will be run at Muswellbrook Race Club next Sunday, giving two horses a second chance to qualify for the $500,000 final at Royal Randwick on April 4. ... Port Macquarie Race Club host an eight-race program, the first kicking off at 1.35pm.

08.01.2022 Plenty of interest in the Gosford heat of the Provincial Championship Qualifier being run at Newcastle Racecourse today. A final field of 14 will line up at 5.30pm with the Kim Waugh trained Trumbull, to be ridden by Grant Buckley, the $3.70 favourite, over Kris Lees Racing's Asharani, with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle. The first of nine races at Newcastle gets underway at 12.30pm.

08.01.2022 Kody Nestor Racing will head to the $500,000 Country Championship Final at Royal Randwick on April 4 with two runners, after training the quinella at yesterday's Coonamble Jockey Club qualifier. Nestor's Sneak Preview, ridden by Mathew Cahill, was the winner from stablemate Fast Talking, with Greg Ryan in the saddle. The final field will be decided after the running of the Wild Card at Muswellbrook RSL club on Sunday.
