25.01.2022 Open Home nursery tomorrow (20/12) in Kendall from 9 till 1ish. Current stock listed in pics, all citrus due late Jan. Lemonades and advanced limes only now. Pictured are lemon myrtle in flower, plenty available now. Perfect for cups of tea and for the bee's!
22.01.2022 Putting Woolies bags to good use :) perfect for sheet mulching between these rows....wack a heap of bana grass on top and that's enough to kill off the grass.
22.01.2022 Is it possible that these pumpkins have evolved over the years and learnt to grow in trees, rather than in the firing line of rats and flood waters at ground level?! This is one of about 5 growing the trees this year, all are doing well whilst the others were destroyed in the recent floods....
21.01.2022 Happy International Permaculture Day! These 3 aren't quite old enough to realise or appreciate it yet. But this permaculture inspired, quarter acre that they call home, has adequate systems set in place to feed and nourish them long after I'm gone. It's never to late to start your permaculture journey. Get reading, researching and do a permaculture course..... I started planting this place out around 7 years ago and have officially run out of room for planting trees!... Most importantly, it's ok to make mistakes along the way. I've changed the setup here numerous times and if I had my time again the whole block would be completely different! Put down the phone and get stuck in.... turn your front yard into food, not grass :) #internationalpermacultureday
21.01.2022 Java and I inspecting the front yard jungle.....tis a far cry from this time last year where I was keeping the garden alive, one bucket of grey water at a time! Don't forget, open home nursery tomorrow from 9 till 1at 15 Laurel St Kendall , Black Head Bazaar Is cancelled tomorrow. If you can't make tomorrow then get in touch to make a suitable time to visit or come see me at Gloucester Farmers Market next Saturday 9th.
20.01.2022 Whoda' thought that digging up your own ingredients for tonight's soup could be almost as satisfying as going for a surf?! I rely on the ocean to clear my head as many days as possible during the week, but with a bung ankle it's best not to risk further injury.....10 minutes digging in the garden and 45 mins prepping soup also does the trick. So if your brain is feeling foggy then get yourself out in the ocean or digging in the garden! It all helps :)
12.01.2022 What a season for green to be your favourite colour! This living mint mulch is loving all this rain. Unfortunately Black Head markets have been cancelled this Sunday. I have hundreds of trees available At the moment so I will have an open nursery at home this Sunday 3rd from 9 till 1, 15 Laurel st Kendall. ... Hope to see some of you here:)
11.01.2022 Twas a cracker of a day beekeeping with Chelsea from Sticky Tips Bees , the girls have been very busy the last couple months with well over 100kg of honey to process over the coming week..... hopefully I'll have some honey available for Saturday at the @thelostplot_pmq Autumn Fair, managed to badly sprain my ankle tidying up after the bees :(
05.01.2022 Who else is growing Buddha's Hand Citron? Our first fruit coming on at the moment, not really sure how to use it though..... any tips?
