25.01.2022 This morning club delegates made the tough decision to wind up the Association after the next Zone AGM. Its as a result of Bowls NSW wanting to remove a layer of administration, rather than a lack of volunteers. Past President, Gerry Lay, thanked the current administration, & those who performed the duties over the years.

13.01.2022 2020 Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side Bowls NSW has been closely monitoring the situation in NSW with respect to the COVID-19. NSW Health has reported a number of ho...tspots from various locations around NSW, with a number of infections reported in NSW schools The decision has been made to CANCEL the 2020 Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side. The intention to conduct the 2020 event was to ensure that there were some competitive opportunities for the Junior Bowlers of 2020. The decision to cancel the 2020 event was made as it was evaluated that the risk for all involved (participants, parents, the members of Club Dubbo and the Bowls NSW Committee & Staff members) was too great to risk gathering for this event at this time. Bowls NSW looks forward to working with Club Dubbo to present the Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side in future years.

11.01.2022 https://rnswba.org.au/n/coronavirus-updates-from-bowls-nsw/ 18th August 2020 Joint Advice from Women’s Bowls NSW and Bowls NSW Regarding Community Sport Guidelines... NSW Health together with NSW Office of Sport have released updated guidelines for Community Sport to be put in place from Wednesday 19th August 2020. NSW Health have recommended to all NSW Sporting Organisations to suspend all activities that bring together participants from different areas and may include Local Government Areas (LGA). As a result of this direction, Women’s Bowls NSW and Bowls NSW hereby advise that ALL State Championship events to be held at District/Regional/Zone level MUST be suspended for a period of 6 weeks commencing tomorrow, Wednesday 19th August. This suspension applies to any State Championships currently in progress and any scheduled to be played within the next 6 weeks. All Districts/Regions/Zones are advised to alter their season programs to reschedule any matches to be played after this 6-week period. Any other District/Regional/Zone events scheduled to be played during this 6-week period (e.g. Pennants, inter regional matches, any other event that has participants from different areas participating) should also be suspended for the 6-week period. Clubs are advised that if they have any tournaments scheduled to be played during this period that they should also postpone or ensure entrants and participants are from their local area only. All face to face meetings at District and Zone level like committee meetings and AGMs should also be postponed. Video meetings through programs such as Zoom are recommended to be utilised. Coaching and Umpire Courses will be limited to participants from host venue local area and some participants may be contacted to arrange alternative arrangements, if necessary. Clubs are encouraged to continue with any of their championships during this period (Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours and Mixed events etc.). Clubs MUST have a COVID safe plan in place and it is noted that part of the requirements are to encourage that there are no spectators at any events or limit to one parent/carer per junior participant. Both Associations will release separate information regarding their events planning ASAP. 07.01.2022 LEARN HOW TO WRITE A GRANT APPLICATION Council’s Grant Management Officer April Merrick, an expert in writing grant applications, will run an online grant w...riting workshop from 11am to 12.30pm on Tuesday 25 August to share what she knows about successfully applying for funding. Competing for funding opportunities is not easy and I want to make sure people leave with techniques that will help them put together a successful application, Ms Merrick she said. The scheduling of this workshop is important, as the current Mumbulla Foundation grant round closes on 25 September and it takes time to write a winning application. Both beginner grant writers and those who want to refresh their knowledge and skills will benefit from this workshop. 04.01.2022 BEGA VALLEY INCLUDED IN DINE & DISCOVER NSW PILOT Council is encouraging all eligible businesses in the Bega Valley Shire to register for Dine & Discover NSW..., which will be piloted in the Shire from late February. When the NSW-Victorian border closed so quickly at the start of this year, many local businesses lost critical revenue for the second year running. The inclusion of our Shire in the Dine & Discover NSW pilot is particularly welcome, as the much-needed summer economic boost we were hoping for just didn’t eventuate.
