19.01.2022 Thanks for joining me @ FTP.. I look forward to sharing my nutritional tips, knowledge and recipes to ultimately support your training, enhance performance and improve recovery! Food choices and what we fuel our body with is important but so too is the timing of our nutrients. Ingestion of protein after a training session can aid with the recovery and repair of muscle tissue whilst carbohydrates can restore any depleted glycogen levels (glycogen being our reserve energy). I'...ll focus on the protein component... Protein (made up of amino acids) is broken down with the majority being taken up by the liver. The remainder - approx. 30% known as the branched chain amino acids (BCAA) are transported to our muscles and used to stimulate muscle protein synthesis (in particular leucine) and inhibit the breakdown of muscle cells. Food sources that are high in BCAA are predominantly animal foods - meat, dairy and eggs. For me a quick and easy way to get in the required dosage of protein after todays workout was this Cherry & Blueberry Chia shake. (I'm never hungry straight after a session but find a shake easy enough to get in) 1 cup frozen cherries & blueberries 1 banana 1 tablespoon chia seeds 1/2 cup greek yoghurt 1/2 cup milk (15g PROTEIN I 50g CARBOHYDRATES I 17g FAT)

03.01.2022 I cant emphasise enough the importance of having a strong core & gluteals - not only for injury prevention but also to improve power and stability for athletic performance. I believe a simple core & butt strengthening routine should be incorporated into every athletes training regime..
