21.01.2022 We are so excited to announce our grant winner for March... Phoebe Manning!!!! Phoebe is a circus performer and clown. She loves creating pieces that reflect the beauty and vulnerability of life. Phoebe is well loved and known around the Brisbane arts community, including her iconic clown act Ernest the Clown and being one half of the The Sparkle-tasting Dance Crew. She is making something beautiful that we will reveal during next weeks For The Record! So get those tickets now- you won’t want to miss this beautiful evening of true stories!

11.01.2022 Hey you, yes you! Our creators grant (exciting name TBA) is now open! We invite creatives of all forms to apply to create/make/incite a new project or work that aligns with our March event's theme: "Dream a Little Dream..." That's right, the profits from our event create a little grant to help someone like you make something darn cool. We just ask it is a new work that aligns with our theme! To apply, we ask you email through an application to [email protected] answe...ring the following: 1. Who are you and what is your practice? 2. Provide some evidence to past work (photos, links to sites etc). 3. What you will hope to make/do and how it ties into the theme "Dream a Little Dream." The next For The Record is March 17th and we will have a slot there for you to present or discuss your work! Grant applications close Tuesday 25th Feb so get onto it! 10.01.2022 We are so excited to announce the February grant winner... Jaimeson Gilders Jaimeson is a multidisciplinary maker and storyteller. In the past 5 years she has worked with collectives and artists in the independent sector while honing her technical, management and creative skills with major companies across dance (Australian Dance Collective formerly EDC), theatre (Punchdrunk, La Boite Theatre Company), circus (CIRCA) and festival work (Commonwealth Games, Brisbane Festival, W...oodford Folk Festival). Jaimeson’s insatiable appetite for knowledge has seen her investigating the oft overlooked role fashion and costume as storytelling devices. Drafting organic shapes and altering preloved garments have become passions she continues to interrogate in her practice. Her personal work focuses heavily on intimacy and connection. Her solo show ‘A Many Splendoured Thing’ at FAST festival 2016 moved her practice from backstage to centre stage. Having embraced this with gusto Jaimeson is spending more time in the limelight as a budding stand-up comedian and storyteller. Jaimeson is bringing us all something exciting from a new roving work she is creating! We can’t wait to show you at Feb’s event. So buy those tickets! Don't get caught out by forgetting, this month we want YOU! Storytellers each get 7-9 minutes to tell a true story from their lives, and we'll give you in exchange an eager, loving audience and a butt-tonne of great photos of you by the excellent Martin Ingle.
