17.01.2022 COVID 19 and Rental Properties There is currently an embargo for the next 6 months for Landlords to evict their tenants if they are having difficulty paying their rent due to job losses with COVID 19. Landlords that have borrowings on their rental properties can apply to their banks for a 6 month freeze of loan repayments to assist the Landlord and tenant through this period.... If you are a tenant please negotiate any issues of payment with your landlord. Landlords should contact their banks for payment reprieve. Say Safe FTS

12.01.2022 Job Keeper Payment The Prime Minister announced yesterday afternoon that for those businesses that want to hold onto staff, however no longer have the financial ability to do so, or have already stood down staff since 1/3/20 due to COVID 19 there is financial assistance available. $1,500 per fortnight is available to staff, to be paid to by employer. Employers need to apply for this benefit from the ATO, and payments are available from 1/5/20 and payments to be backdated to 3...0/3/20. those eligible include; 1) full time 2) part time 3) casual with year service 4) sole traders This benefit is available to businesses with 30% loss of turnover, or if turnover greater than $1billion pa 50% loss of turnover. This is for parents with Essentials jobs, studying or children are in vulnerable positions.... 06.01.2022 Early Super Access If you have lost your job or your income has been reduced due to COVID - 19 you may be able to apply for early release of your super. You must meet the following requirements;... 1) You are unemployed. 2) You are eligible to receive a job seeker payment, youth allowance for jobseekers, parenting payment (which includes the single and partnered payments), special benefit or farm household allowance. 3) On or after 1 January 2020, either a) you were made redundant b) your working hours were reduced by 20% or more c) if you are a sole trader, your business was suspended or there was a reduction in your turnover of 20% or more Applications for $10,000 for 19/20 financial year available from April 2020 and you can apply for further $10,000 from July for 20/21 financial year. This can be applied for from you MyGov account. GENERAL ADVICE WARNING; This advice is general in nature and you must consider your own personal circumstances before proceeding. 04.01.2022 Commercial Tenancy Agreements The Government have released new standards in regards to tenancy agreement for businesses and their rental repayments to deal with the COVID - 19 crisis. To be eligible you must be a business with turnover less than $50million and the lease must be for terms less than 24 months.... You can earn up to $104 per fortnight to receive the maximum benefit as above. Normal Job Seeker Payment is approx. $510 per fortnight, however there is also a Job Seeker supplement of $550 per fortnight to assist with costs.
