Add the shiratamako and sugar in a bowl and pour in about half of the water. Mix well. Slowly add in the rest of the water and knead with your hand until the mixture is smooth and soft like earlobe. 2.Roll the dough into a log and cut it into about 30 equal pieces. Using both hands, roll each piece into a 2cm ball. 3.Add the Shiratama dango to the boiling water. On medium heat, boil the dango until they float to the top. Continue to cook for 1 more minute. It is one of the most popular home-made dishes in Japan You can make this tasty curry by simply mixing the ...Japanese curry roux with ingredients of your choice in a cooking pot. Customise your curry with your favourite meat, seasonal vegetables and toppings! Ingredients for 8 servings: - 900g of your preferred vegies (most commonly used are carrots, potatoes and onions, but you can even use seasonal vegies such as asparagus, broccoli and zucchini!) - 300g of a meat of your choice - 1 box of Japanese curry roux - 2 tablespoons of cooking oil - 1 litre of water Be sure to read the instructions on the curry roux box because each brand has their own serving instructions Method: 1. Cut the vegetables and meat into bite sizes. 2. Heat the large cooking pot on medium heat and add the oil. 3. Add the meat and vegies into the pot and stir fry until the meat is lightly browned. (medium heat) 4. Add water, cover and simmer until ingredients are tender for about 15 mins. (low to medium heat) 5. Turn the heat off, break the curry roux in to pieces and add them to the pot and stir until completely melted. 6. Turn the heat back on again and simmer for approx 10 mins while stirring constantly. (low heat) 7. Serve hot with rice. You can try some toppings to your curry such as boiled eggs, cheese or even chicken-katsu!
