05.01.2022 Since our critical update about COVID-19, we’ve received a lot of calls and messages about the day and time the 2 confirmed cases were on-site. Unfortunately, d...ue to privacy legislation we are not allowed to disclose that information. HOWEVER, rest assured our pre-screening process, our dedicated isolation clinics and rigorous sanitisation control follows the strictest controls in the country; processes which have been reviewed and approved by the infection control unit at Blacktown Hospital (Western Sydney Health). It is very important to note, COVID-19 is spread through contact, it is not airborne. Both patients were pre-screened and immediately sent to our Isolation Clinic - which is separate from our main practice. Combined with our sanitisation control, mandated social distancing between patients and other comprehensive infection control methods, if you happened to be at our premises last week, this week, or any week in the future, your risk of exposure to any suspected or diagnosed cases of COVID-19 is negligible. The health and safety of our patients and our broader community is paramount to everyone here at Kildare Road Medical Centre. That is why we set up these comprehensive safety measures over 3 weeks ago. Many other practices and hospitals have yet to implement such stringent procedures. We need to approach this global health crisis with a sense of calm and common sense - listening to the facts, not being fuelled by fear and misinformation. The reality is, the nature of this virus, how it arrived in Australia and how it presents itself means cases will continue to rise around the country. With stricter nation-wide measures now coming into play, and a clearer understanding of the importance of social distancing being realised, for the sake of our community and your peace of mind, stay informed, practice stringent hand and cough hygiene, clean surfaces regularly and abide by the Government's recent requests to help us #stopthespread and flatten the curve.
