15.01.2022 This Weeks #MahonySmile Is James. James was a severe mouth breather and snored at night. 13.01.2022 This weeks #MahonySmile is Precious. This young lady had severe crowding and bi-dental incisor protrusion. She was treated using a combination of the Damon system and TADS. TADS can be utilized to retract teeth more efficiently than the conventional methods and avoids the need for headgear. To find out what we could do for your smile, visit: https://www.fullfaceorthodontics.com.au/... 13.01.2022 There is a big difference between a specialist providing braces, and a general dentist. Look at this segment from a recent ABC documentary, on the costs of braces, by a general dentist (National Average Prices) Please also remember that the best orthodontist in Sydney is not likely to be the cheapest you can find. Comparing prices between orthodontists can be difficult because orthodontists dont usually quote over the phone. Keeping a practice up to scratch, and using t...he latest technology, can add considerably to the cost of providing treatment, which gives a cost advantage to more outdated practices. At Full Face Orthodontics we maintain the highest standards and offer the most advanced technologies A 30 min consultation with Dr. Mahony, which includes X-rays, is billed at $240. If you wish to have a short 5 minute virtual consultation with Dr.Mahony, through the phone, he is also happy to do that at no charge, but it will be at a time that is convenient to our practice. We much prefer you to see Dr.Mahony, in person, at one of our 6 locations. May I ask which location would suit you best? We have practices in Randwick, Parramatta, Neutral Bay, Miranda, Gregory Hills and Hornsby. If you would like to proceed with a phone consultation, please first send photos of the teeth and face to [email protected] and subject it Phone Consultation - with your name and contact phone number If you prefer a live face to face meeting please advise which location suits you the best. We look forward to meeting you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pyiukXacY0&feature=youtu.be See more

10.01.2022 This weeks #MahonySmile is Anthony This case demonstrates the benefits of the Damon System in allowing us the treat a difficult case without the extraction of teeth. We also thank our oral myologist, Nada, for helping this young man retrain his anterior tongue thrust habit. 09.01.2022 Todays #Mahonysmile is Katerina This young lady was told that her only treatment option would involve jaw surgery, when she was older, or the extraction of upper teeth and subsequent retraction of the incisors. Dr Mahony was able to treat her without surgery, or extractions, using the MARA appliance. Both Katerina and her father are extremely happy with the treatment outcome. 09.01.2022 This weeks #mahonysmile is Ashley This young lady was referred to my practice by her Ear Nose & Throat Doctor based on her narrow upper jaw and lateral posterior crossbite. Our early intervention involved improving the airway and developing the upper jaw so that when Ashley was old enough for braces the time in fixed braces was very short, as the skeletal problems (Jaw asymmetry) had already been addressed. Ashley, and her mother, are extremely happy with the treatment outcom...e and we wish Ashley all the best for the future ensuring that she keeps wearing her retainer. 09.01.2022 Todays #MahonySmile is Zara This case illustrates the benefits of early treatment. When Dr Mahony graduated 32 years ago he would never treat children unless they had all their adult teeth. Unfortunately, this meant a lot of unnecessary extractions. Now Dr Mahony treats in the mixed dentition so that he can develop the jaw and make room for the adult teeth before they erupt. Zara is a classic case of this and she now ends up with a broad beautiful smile and gets all her adul...t teeth. If you have a child who has similar breathing issues with a narrow palate please visit Full Face Orthodontics for an early assessment to improve sleep and achieve an ideal orthodontic outcome. 07.01.2022 Todays #Mahonysmile is Rachel This young lady had a Class III jaw pattern i.e. a severe underbite. The traditional approach would be to wait until she was older and then perform orthognathic surgery. We at Full Face Orthodontics, however, believe in early interceptive treatment for this type of bite. Rachael was treated very successfully using the McNamara protocol of a Hyrax and face mask therapy. Both Rachel and her mum are extremely happy with the treatment outcome, whic...h has avoided unnecessary extractions and the need for jaw surgery. If you have a child who has similar breathing issues with a narrow palate please visit Full Face Orthodontics for an early assessment to improve sleep and achieve an ideal orthodontic outcome. 06.01.2022 This weeks #mahonysmile is Jordan. Jordan is a classic example of why Dr Mahony recommends early treatment for a bad bite. This young man would have required a jaw operation had his crossbite not been fixed at an early age and we congratulate his referring dentist, Dr George, for picking up this problem at the appropriate time. 06.01.2022 Todays #MahonySmile is Harris. This young man had a severe, Class III malocclusion (an underbite) and would normally have to wait till he was older and have jaw surgery. Using a combination of the Damon system and TADS, we were able to treat this young on a non-surgical basis. Both Harris and his family are extremely happy with the outcome. To find out what we could do for your smile, visit: https://www.fullfaceorthodontics.com.au/ All treatments carry risks and we recommend that you speak to one of our health professionals / dentists / orthodontists at Full Face Orthodontists to see if treatment is suitable for you.

06.01.2022 This Weeks #MahonySmile is Bailey This young man presented to the practice with a deep overbite and was advised, by another doctor that the problem was due to the upper teeth. The previous treatment plan, offered by another clinician, was to pull the upper teeth back. Dr Mahony immediately realized that the lower jaw wasnt in the right position and he treated this young man without any upper teeth extractions, but rather by bringing the lower jaw forward using a MARA applia...nce. Both Bailey and his mother are extremely happy that A; they didnt have to take teeth out, and B; Her sons profile has improved dramatically. If you have a child who has similar breathing issues with a narrow palate please visit Full Face Orthodontics for an early assessment to improve sleep and achieve an ideal orthodontic outcome. 06.01.2022 Todays #MahonySmile is Joshua. This young man had impacted canines and a strong lower jaw, which we know as Class 3. Thanks to the expertise of our team here at Full Face orthodontics, we were able to correct the underbite and make room for the upper teeth without extracting. Joshua and his father are extremely happy with the treatment outcome. 05.01.2022 Todays #MahonySmile was Jack This young man had a severe underbite, as a young boy, and the use of a Myobrace at the appropriate age was able to guide his jaw into a more favourable position, reducing the need for full fixed braces. If you have a child of a similar age (7) who would like to minimise future complex orthodontic treatment please consider the use of a Myobrace appliance. 01.01.2022 This weeks #MahonySmile is Victoria This young lady moved here from Ireland and heard about our practice from one of Dr Mahonys previous students in Ireland. She had a success treatment using the Damon system and avoiding jaw surgery or the extraction of premolar teeth which were the other two opinions that had been given to her. Victoria and the team at FFO are extremely happy with the outcome and we wish her all the best as she returns back to Ireland in the next 6 months.
