20.01.2022 We are travelling through tough times. No matter your circumstances, please know you are not alone. This post today from It's okay, not to be okay. is a gentle reminder of this. The wisdom of Pooh and Piglet is always so timeless . Please make sure you reach out to someone if you are struggling. If I can help in any way, let me know. Take care, Fiona

15.01.2022 I took this picture on a walk yesterday. As we begin another 6-week lockdown in Melbourne, seeing this tree and its many roots anchoring it into the earth made me think about how important our own root systems are in times like these. . Truth is, I struggled with the last lockdown A LOT. The combination of work, homeschooling, juggling schedules, and isolation meant I came undone on more than one occasion. This time round, for better or for worse, we’re going into lockdown wi...th our eyes wide open. Having done it before, we hold some knowledge and wisdom around what’s to come and what we individually and collectively might be facing. . Knowing this, what is it that you need to support yourself over these coming weeks? What will help you to stay anchored when the going gets tough? . My answers to these questions mostly point back to releasing expectations, openly communicating, accepting support, connecting with community, and... remembering to breathe! . How about you? What do you need to support yourself during this lockdown? Would love to hear from you in the comments below. Take care out there and please reach out if you need any support. I am here. #lockdown #beginagain #covid19 #bettertogether #grounded #support #bekind

15.01.2022 I was saddened this week to hear of the passing of Sir Ken Robinson. I discovered his book The Element many years ago when a good friend lent me her copy which I then devoured over a few days on a beach in Croatia. This led me to his TED talk that posed the provocative question: Do schools kill creativity? What he spoke of resonated deeply. . First and foremost, Sir Ken Robinson was a passionate educator. His work sparked thoughts in my mind of how linear and inflexible ...school systems not only kill creativity, but also suppress the natural and unique gifts of so many who then go on to mold themselves into lives and careers they believe (and are told) they should be having. . Fast forward 15-20 years and those same people hit mid-life wondering how they ended up in jobs and careers so disconnected and out of alignment with who they are. As a coach I see this often. It is also why I believe a big part of my role is to help guide people back to themselves. This might sound simple and yet, when you’ve spent the best part of your life trying to fit a certain mold and running away from yourself, it can take a lot of unravelling. . My wish is that the work and legacy of Sir Ken Robinson continues. That children are given an education where their uniqueness and way of being in and looking at the world is seen and valued. Where they learn to lead with curiosity and to challenge the notions of right and wrong. My wish is that, as a result, the next generation is more deeply connected to who they are and - instead of following a model of what they they think they should be doing in life - having the courage to travel along a path led by what feels right and in congruence with their values, talents and strengths. And in the process...finding their element. . PS - thank you @connybolter for lending me your book all those years ago . . #sirkenrobinson #creativity #play #curiosity #innovation #theelement #findingyourelement #knowwhoyouare #findyourpassion #lovewhatyoudo #unique #talent #strengths #values #imagination #explore #beseen #nonlinear #pathlesstravelled #careercoach #lifecoach #leadershipcoach #melbourne @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia See more

10.01.2022 HOPE I was drafting a message this afternoon about hope but it just didn’t seem to flow. I’ve been a bit lost for words recently. It feels like there’s so much to process (both at a local and global level) that it’s hard to know where to begin. . At the crux of it, the thing I really wanted to say as we head into even tighter restrictions in Melbourne and Victoria, is to not forget hope. That’s all I have for you lovely people! Don’t forget hope. And take care x... PS - I looked up during my walk today and saw these beautiful blossoms. Definitely a sign of hope . #hope #resilience #melbourne #victoria #blossoms #change #transition #coaching #lostforwords
