18.01.2022 We had an incredible session on our Talking Landscape Photography live chat Wednesday night with Master Printer Simon Olding. If you caught it I'm sure you woul...d have left with quite a few questions answered and a new found appreciation for exactly how much there is to know about printing! Thanks once again Simon for being part of it. If you didn't catch it live you can always watch it on our YouTube channel linked below. Coming up this week on Wednesday night at 7:30pm Paul, Nick, and I will be discussing our 'Top 5 Australian Images' taken by other photographers. This is bound to be a fascinating insight into what inspires us as photographers, and provide a great dissection of what makes an extraordinary photograph. We really want you to be a part of the show too, so we are putting the call out for you to share with us your favourite image! We will discuss some of the submissions, and if you're on Zoom you'll have the chance to tell everyone about what makes the image so special to you. To share your favourite image with us please send a website link or screenshot to @., remembering that it must be a landscape image taken by an Australian photographer. The links to register for our Zoom live chat can be found below. If you've already registered then you can use the same link from last week to join in this week. You're of course also welcome to watch on YouTube as well, but we'd love to see your smiling face on Zoom. 07.01.2022 Oh man, super duper excited tonight to launch an online gallery of very special work for sale as a guest artist at the Full Gamut Gallery!!! As many of you know..., I have a soulful hunger and deep urge to shift perspective, rise into the sky and explore and create interpretations of the world from the air. Being up there feels like one step closer to heaven, and it helps me to see and understand nature's intricate balance and interconnectivity more than anything else ever has. For the gallery, I've collated a mixture of fresh new work and a few of my career favourites to offer a selection of pieces with an intriguing mix of colour, texture, form and narrative. Attached are a few taster images... The full range of art pieces are available for purchase here at the Full Gamut Gallery link and will all be printed on superb fine art matte papers with archival quality pigment inks. https://www.fullgamut.com.au/full-gamut-gallery/paul-hoelen/ The team at Full Gamut are some of the best at what they do in this country and easily the best in Tasmania. I've been printing my work with them for almost 15 years now, and there's no one alive I trust more to print my work to the standards that I aim for as an artist! And it's such a delicious feeling to see your work come to life in print and just sing at you just as you were envisioning... That's what art is created for - to take your thoughts and spirit to another place or space, and leave you in a better place for it... and there's simply no better way to do that, than in exquisitely printed form So if you’re drawn to a piece for your home, work or to gift to a loved one, then it’s all set up for your order and ready to go. And yes, I'll be signing each piece personally! I'll be putting together some stories and insights behind each piece soon, but in the meantime, I'm just as happy to let them speak for themselves It's awesome to have a portal like this to get my work out there more, and I'm already looking forward to putting the proceeds towards getting back up in there to move my art in new directions! Merry Christmas folks Feel free to share...as this artist wants to fly! Arohanui, Paul

05.01.2022 Full Gamut Gallery -Peter Dombrovskis - https://mailchi.mp/ful/full-gamut-gallery-peter-dombrovskis Iconic Tasmania landscape photographer, Peter Dombrovskis' work still retains a beauty and simplicity that presents his natural world with a clarity of vision. Good composition never goes out of fashion and these works are a master class in "seeing". We think these are some of the finest prints ever made from Peter's original transparencies.

04.01.2022 Thanks Sam. It helps to start with great files. Good job.
