24.01.2022 Share The Dignity At your local Bunnings Between 20th-29th November . Who doesn't love a trip to Bunnings? I’ve been trying to find a camping or caravanning angle on this post but I can’t come up with one. So I’m blatantly posting this in case you would also like to help out.... . We are doing this instead of buying each other Christmas gifts. . Share the Dignity works in making a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. . Each November thousands of bags are gifted, filled with essentials and special gifts to make their Christmas one to remember. . You don’t have to add as much as we have, it could just be something like a bar of soap, deodorant or tampons. Or maybe nappies for those that have a baby. . So head to your local Bunnings this weekend for a sausage sizzle and drop off something to make someones Christmas. #ShareTheDignity #ItsInTheBag2020 #ItsInTheBag #Bunnings

22.01.2022 DIY Caravan Shade We already have a side shade but decided we also wanted one for the other side as well. . The triangle-ey bit was all we wanted to cover so the breeze could get through and not block all of our view. We always have the awning out at this angle rather than having the legs fully out.... . Larry picked some shade cloth from Bunnings for about $13, some eyelets, an eyelet tool and a cutting tool. Then we got to work knocking up a shade . This shade is not meant to be permanent although I don’t see why it cant be. It’s just a cheap and cheerful way to block some afternoon suns here, where we are for a while. . After roughly cutting the shade to size we both had a go at the eyelet tool to make the hole and to add the eyelets. Good old cable ties were used to attach it to the awning. . The cost for this was less than $30 compared to our coast to coast side awning which cost us around $90. See more

21.01.2022 Paint The Whole World With A Rainbow . Watering of the sugar cane next to our van. I'm not sure if I prefer the sunset or rainbows here

19.01.2022 Our Photo Made It In To A Calendar . We love supporting small towns and what better way to do that than supporting the local pub. Lots of pubs around Australia have free camping for patrons so it’s a win win. .... Country Pup Camping page and website has over 900 pub camps to choose from and we have supported a few. . I feel so lucky to have our Ye Old Buckland Inn Tasmania photo as November in there 2021 calendar. . If you or someone you know might like to camp at a pub or would like a Country Pub calendar head to their site. I will add it in the comments See more

10.01.2022 Problem With Our Caravan Air-Conditioner After turning off the air-con last night, it randomly turned itself back on again a few minutes later .. Spooky . I assumed I must have pressed the wrong button so pressed the off button again.... It started to turn itself on and immediately off again over and over before staying on permanently. . Larry turned the power off and took off the fascia of the air-con to check out what might be wrong. He unplugged the remote sensor board and his automation electronics and it still stayed on. . Larry thinks the main control box might be the problem After unplugging the air-cons 240v supply we left it off over night . This morning, after putting it back together and turning it on, it’s going fine. I’m not game to touch it till tonight when we will turn it off. The temperature is 31o already today. . A new air conditioner might be needed and we have been looking at the Ibis 4. It’s meant to be quieter than most caravan air-cons. . Have you got a Ibis 4 How do you find it Have you removed and fitted your own air-con how easy was it

08.01.2022 TIP For Some Telstra Customers . Our internet is provided by Telstra. We signed a document to pay X amount per month for our data usage. This month I notice the bill had increased by $15. So on the phone I got to customer support to find out why? .... They informed me that they have new plans out so they upgraded us automatically which gives us a extra 30gb a month in data.. Hmmm I thought. So I mentioned that I was happy to only pay what I agreed to pay and they said "oh it's ok, you pay the extra $15 a month and once we receive payment we will then refund you the $15 each month for the next 12 months. It's our offer to say thank you for being a Telstra customer" I'm like, ummm thank you for thinking of me However that is some backwards ideas you have going on there. And out of principle of the matter what if I live to the dollar each week, I didn't budget for a extra $15 to disappear for 3 days so you can collect interest on it. That might mean I have to not eat for 3 days. Eventually after some back and forth chat they agreed to keep it at my original price as of next month. yayyy So anyway the tip for you is. Check your Telstra account to make sure they aren't taking extra money from your account when you didn't request it Happy Saturday everyone Larry
