19.01.2022 The campus of one of our current education projects is surrounded by beautiful, natural bushland! The selected upholstery fabrics are inspired by the colours of trees that surround the building. Currently under construction, this project also takes advantage of existing vegetation on site with extensive glazing and outdoor learning spaces. #education #design #interiordesign #interiorarchitecture #community #architecture #instyle #interiordesigner #interiors #interiorinspo #interiordesignideas

18.01.2022 We are very excited by the imminent commencement of the Point Danger Lighthouse project, due to start construction in April. https://lnkd.in/geVAVsg The works include the rectification of significant damage to the original structure, completed in 1971 and subject to local #heritage listing. The undercroft of the main podium, housing the Volunteer Marine Rescue Service, will be completely rebuilt, with extended viewing platforms, a gallery/kiosk and new public amenities. Strad...dling the QLD/NSW border, this project is jointly funded by Tweed Shire Council and the City of Gold Coast. We would like to thank both councils and our amazing team of consultants for persevering through this incredibly complicated but ultimately rewarding #revitalisation of an icon. 17.01.2022 The count down to completion is on, for the new Centre for Senior Learning at The Springfield Anglican College! This new addition to the campus will provide a #learning #environment specifically for students in years 11 and 12 that will assist with them in their transition from #secondary school to life at #university. Diverse and flexible spaces will support both informal and formal learning as well as opportunities for #independent learning outside the formal timetabled day.... Seniors will have the ability to access to the building beyond school hours and the incorporation of student kitchens and amenities will encourage gradual change in their behaviour. We look forward to sharing the finished building in the coming weeks. 15.01.2022 Our history with Ambrose Treacy College extends back to the 1930’s when our founding Director, Charlie Fulton, designed the original Edmund Rice Building. The new Waterford West, featured by PGH Bricks & Pavers, sees the completion of the Colleges expansion from a primary #school to a fully-fledged 4 to 12 campus. It’s prominent Western aspect references back to the #brickwork expression of the original 1938 Charles Fulton designed Edmund Rice Building, projecting the spirit ...of the new senior campus to the wider #community whilst making connections back to the College’s historical roots. Designed to accommodate the most mature #students on campus, Waterford West is honest, simple and robust! 12.01.2022 Now is the time to get your architect on the job! Like all industries, the #Queensland architecture industry is suffering from the dire effects of #coronavirus. State Government, local governments, not for profits, schools, Universities should consider accelerating the first stages of their #building and #construction programs and bring #forward project schedules.... Failure to continue with projects will have a disastrous impact on Queensland's building and construction supply chain. Any interruption to the stability and continued health of Queensland's architectural businesses will have a flow on effect to hundreds of allied sub-consultants, #trades and #suppliers and #contractors. Contact us now to get your project shovel ready! The Australian Institute of Architects #shovelready

07.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that Stokes Wheeler Pty Ltd have started construction of Stage 4 of Habitat on Kersley. Located on a 3.4 hectare site in the leafy suburb of #Kenmore, this staged development will eventually consist of 71 dwellings. The current stage includes the construction of an additional eleven townhouses, bringing the total number of completed homes to 41. This site presented an interesting mix of development constraints with large sloping incline, a signi...ficant number of native trees for retention, a main roads resumption and rear waterway corridor. We employed an organic approach to the #master #planning to integrate the dwellings and roadway access without disturbing the existing integrity of the site. The design follows the existing contours, allowing for greater retention to the number of trees and promoting a #green #living approach. #enduringcommunities #masterplanning #design #architecture #queenslandarchitecture #sustainabledesign #greenliving #multiresidential #housing #multiplehousing

03.01.2022 Last Friday our team was very pleased to attend the preview of the Art From The Margins Outsider Art Awards exhibition. A huge congratulations to Leelyn Cruddas, winner of the Fulton Trotter Architects Award with the powerful piece - Erased (pictured). We are very proud to be long time supporters of AFTM and encourage you all to visit ATFM Gallery & Studios and view the finalist exhibition, onsite until Saturday Oct 17th or online here: - https://www.wmq.org.au//art-from-the...-margi/2020-art-awards Artist Statement: This collection is a statement on how words can erase people and culture. It is known that the constant barrage of ethnic slurs diminishes and demeans cultures, however, what is not discussed is that ordinary insults to a person from a minority group also diminishes and demeans that minority group. In addition, these insults can cause someone to not want to identify or belong to a minority group. A culmination of those insults can erase culture and identity. Art like this means I can have a voice. - Leelyn Cruddas, Erased, 2020, photographs on canvas. Winner, Fulton Trotter Award, 2020 Art from the Margins Queensland Outsider Art Awards.
