19.01.2022 With the Federal Governments announcement that no recreational boating should be undertaken during the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have taken the difficult and heartbreaking decision to no longer remain open for catamaran hire. To offer people an alternative to exercise we are very happy to allow use of our kayaks and stand up paddle boards. This will be by appointment only on weekdays, and 10am-5pm on weekends. Their use must comply with the guidelines set by the government. If ...you would like us to reserve kayaks/SUPs for you please call, as we have closed online availability for the time being. Gift Vouchers can still be purchased online and we would love you to consider giving one of our vouchers as a gift! We appreciate the support we have been shown by everyone throughout this season and hope things return to normal soon. In the meantime please stay safe and adhere to social distancing, so that the most vulnerable in our community are protected. See more

19.01.2022 Cities who sail together, stay together

17.01.2022 The sun is setting on our season, with this Sunday being our last day of 7 day trading. We will be open for weekends into May provided the weather stays nice If you want to come down mid-week, feel free to give us a call as we will be packing up boats (it takes a while) Thanks to everyone who has come down and supported us and all your other local businesses over the past year or so, it really means a lot

16.01.2022 Long weekend coming up time to get the crew together. . @nindithalingga

15.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why there aren’t more boats that use the river in front of Perth city? Many people who sail with us know that this area of the river is very shallow, varying from around 0.5-1.5 metres deep. This means that big power boats and yachts aren’t able to move around without hitting the bottom. This makes our area one of the safest (and coolest) places for you to learn how to sail ... Click the link in our bio to find out more

15.01.2022 Reminder Tomorrow at 10am you can log onto www.wandervoucher.com.au for a FREE $100 voucher which you can use to sail with us

11.01.2022 Autumn The start of our prime paddling season. Morning and late afternoon paddles will generally bring flat water and perfect conditions

11.01.2022 We are delighted to advise that we are going to be sailing again this season!! With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions on groups we will have a very limited number of catamarans available for hire from tomorrow (Monday 27th April). We have a total of 8 catamarans still at the river and will be preparing them for use as quickly as we can tomorrow morning. We hope to have them all ready to go by midday when the sea breeze is expected! The past couple of months have been extremely difficult for us. We greatly appreciate the support people have shown us by coming down for a paddle....and are thrilled to once again be able give everyone the opportunity to go sailing!!

10.01.2022 Less than a month away from a splash of colour returning to the foreshore

05.01.2022 Avoid the crowds at the beach! Funcats is open for kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boards right through Easter and the school holidays. Call us to book. Social distancing applies with all of our craft. Have a safe and fun Easter everyone!

05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We just wanted to make contact to let everyone know that we are planning to continue operating for the foreseeable future. We hope that people are able to continue to sail or paddle with us over the next couple of months, and we greatly appreciate the support we have been given by you all throughout this season. This is our 8th season at Funcats and it has been by a fair margin our toughest. The Citys move to paid parking has done enormous damage to us and has ...already left us in an extremely vulnerable position. Like many others, our small business is facing some tough times ahead. We hope everyone is still keen to spend some time on the river and look forward to your company soon! Andrew, Jane and the Team at Funcats. See more

05.01.2022 How cool were the retro vibes of the old Funcats caravan! It’s crazy how much the foreshore has changed since this photo was taken. There’s barely any building along the foreshore and not a blade of grass to be seen

05.01.2022 The beach at Coode Street has had some welcome renovation over the past few days and is looking fantastic. Our staff, customers and many members of the public who use this area will benefit from the work that has been undertaken. Thanks heaps to Paul from CoSP for the work he has undertaken to make this happen, to Terry for his excellent Bobcat skills and to the Department for Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for their input and approvals!

04.01.2022 Not too many places in the world you can do this Actually, we’re not sure if there is any at all? Hire a catamaran and sail in front of the Perth skyline - a uniquely Perth experience

03.01.2022 Coordinating a SUP photo is about as hard as it gets down here

02.01.2022 Lets all remember to stay physically distant but in close contact during these tough times. Also, the shaka is a 100% safe greeting as long as we are 1.5 metres apart

02.01.2022 Thanks Ryan Chorley - Liberal for South Perth and Senator Matt O'Sullivan for the visit. It was great to have you both down for a chat and get you out on the water
