17.01.2022 Healthy diets are based on perception.. - We throw around the word healthy a lot... but what does it really mean?? - A healthy diet is based on opinion and perception, what one is trying to achieve compared what one thinks they’re achieving..... - What are you eating for? Are you trying to look like your meant to be on the next top fitness page or magazine? Or are you trying to make your insides as healthy as it clinically can be rated? - At the end of the day... consumption is consumption. Which means, to an extent, it doesn’t matter what your eating... over consumption in calories will have the same effect whether it’s choices based on healthy foods or unhealthy foods. - A hand full of almonds still contains macros nutrients, as do a bag of chips.. NOW... I’m not saying you can go and eat a bag of chips!! NO NO NO!... what I’m getting at is.. a hand full of almonds once over consumed will still leave you with the possible excess of fat consumption as can a bag of chips. - If you’re not consuming for what your body needs, chances are... in this day and age... you will likely over consume the food. - With over consumption comes a caloric surplus (higher calorie intake to what your body needs), a calorie surplus regardless of healthy foods or unhealthy foods will cause increase chances in gaining body fat. - So in saying that... let’s keep in mind of what we’re consuming and quantity of what we’re consuming, be mindful of calorie dense foods and low calorie high volume foods (usually a better choice). - A great app to broaden your knowledge of foods and what your actually consuming is my fitness pal This app will aid you in what you consume with not only calories but also macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates and protein). 15.01.2022 **Shoulder impingement issues/tendonitis/bursitis** - Does your shoulder hurt? Even when you’re sleeping? Or when you try to lift it above your head!? This can be an easy fix! A lot of the time, a shoulder pain can be contributed by an injured rotator cuff muscle(s).. whether it’s a small tear or just knots in the muscle that’s been built up over time.. symptoms such as pain in the front of the shoulder or to the side and back, even aching or numb/dead feeling during the nigh...t while sleeping.. - This injury can be brought on by the larger surrounding muscles getting tight, thus decreasing the range of motion in that joint and throwing your posture out! When this happens, the rotator cuff muscle can be aggravated as extra stress may be added to compensate for the larger muscles not allowing the range of movement or taking the load during a movement/exercise... thus increasing the chance of possibly knotting and/or tear in the muscle and/or tendon. - - **For Preventative Measures** Try to maintain regular stretches to the pecs, lats, upper back, traps and biceps... heck even tricep muscles, as they all have the potential to be contributors in shoulder injuries. - If you’re experiencing pain please email for treatment options or self treatment methods!
