25.01.2022 Lovely description of why crossing midline is so important! We work on this a lot in our sessions.

24.01.2022 Save those empty toilet paper rolls! Great idea! Grab your flashlight.

23.01.2022 Learning your phone number....another great life skill. Post it on the wall or tape it to the floor and jump on each number.

23.01.2022 I absolutely love working on a vertical surface for so many reasons. Check out this easy idea. Chalk and water fun for kids. If you don’t have a chalkboard...take your chalk outside and draw on the sidewalk or driveway. You could also use a spray bottle to clean off the chalk ( great way to strengthen the hand for pre-scissors skills) have fun.

23.01.2022 Such a great visual perception and fine motor task. So simple!

23.01.2022 Check out the Dino Challenge! Post a photo of fun things you are doing at home.

20.01.2022 It’s presentation time! Gwen helped me pull together these fine motor kits for the parents at Happy Valley Child Care Center. She was so excited she had to find her old T-shirt. She has grown a bit!!! Looking forward to sharing some fun and practical ideas to strengthen motor skills with things you can find around the house. Egg cartons, straws, newspaper, q-tips, cotton balls, painters tape... What’s your favorite activity with some of these items?

10.01.2022 Routine...so important!!!!

10.01.2022 Great reminders! Especially about the messaging...our kids are always listening. They pick up on our fears. Be positive and talk about the things your child will enjoy at school.

06.01.2022 It’s time to make some Spooky Spider Dogs!!! This is a great way to get your kids involved in the kitchen, and strengthen some fine motor, motor planning and... grading of force along the way. So yummy! My family enjoys these throughout the year...not just at Halloween. Have fun! Post a picture of your family enjoying their Spooky Spider Dogs. See more

06.01.2022 I remember doing this when my kids were little. Cute idea.

05.01.2022 Yay!!! We have a Day!!!! Happy OT day to all my OT friends.

04.01.2022 Another great idea with supplies around the house.

04.01.2022 Here’s a great resource to help kids understand why it is important for them to wear a mask. Depending on your child, they may need to practice wearing a mask, so in 2 or 3 weeks when you want to take them out in the community they will already be used to it.

04.01.2022 Fun!!!! Who doesn’t love watching kids.

04.01.2022 Everyday is OT day isn’t it?? Happy OT day to all my OT friends. What a fabulous and satisfying profession.

01.01.2022 A great functional handwriting task too!!!! Or...start two jars...one for activities you want to do when we are all out of isolation.....and the second as a Gratitude Jar....things you are thankful for during this time....essential workers, power, internet, sunny day..more family time....
