22.01.2022 'Help, why can't I get approved?!' Ok, so lots has been going on with this global pandemic with many experiencing financial difficulty. However, there are a few key things that you need to be aware of if planning on taking credit in the near future. Many individuals and companies have put loan payments on hold, taken funds out of super, increased credit limits etc etc, which is completely understandable given the loss of jobs, reduced income and businesses struggling. Firs...t and foremost it is important to do what we need to do to put food on the table and survive. However, please be aware that when enquiring to take out additional lending lenders are asking the following; - Has the applicant been effected by COVID-19 - Has the applicant put repayments on pause - Has the applicant reduced any repayments - Bankstatements to see your cash flow When you have repayments on hold it makes it difficult for lenders to approve additional lending. Lenders need to be shown to be providing responsible lending, it is not necessarily the most responsible thing from their part to provide loans until they can see that you can comfortably afford to commence current payments again and service additional lending...make sense? We have had many clients putting payments on hold or taken funds out of super, not because work or income has stopped but because they want to 'take advantage' of the fact that banks are willing to pause things at this time. Please just be mindful if you are still working and able to keep up with payments, this will definitely help show great payment history for new purchases. If you have had to put things on hold for good reason, that's perfectly understandable given the climate. Do not fear! Once your financial situation returns lenders will be able to consider additional lending. Most importantly stay safe everyone!
