We are currently looking for a person to join our team as a full time Funeral Assistant. This role requires a willingness to learn and adapt to different situations. Attention to detail is extremely important for this position. We offer on the job training, so no previous experience is required, although it is certainly welcomed. The ability to be ready in a timely manner is important and a willingness to be on call after hours and weekends is also essential. You will need to possess an open driver’s licence, computer skills, established people skills, exceptional conservative grooming, the ability to work within a team, and the physical strength necessary to manoeuvre the deceased. You will also need to have a desire to help and care for families in sensitive situations. Your duties will include but not be limited to: Transferring of the deceased Mortuary Care Attending funerals under funeral director’s instruction Assist with audio/visual equipment at both Cemetery and Crematorium chapels/churches Attend to family requests to ensure smooth running of funerals Drive, clean and refuel company vehicles Cleaning of warehouse, mortuary, and office areas Be part of a roster for after hours transfers (4.30pm-8am weekdays and 24hrs on weekends and public holidays). Before I get to what I need to say I just want to thank all of the Teachers, Childcare Workers, Aged Care Workers, Palliative Care Workers, Nurses, Doctors, Chemists etc for doing all you can to stop the spread. Social Distancing and Funerals: While indoor gatherings of fewer than 100 people are still allowed, the new guidelines by the Government say that there needs to be at least four square metres available for every per...son in the area. We have found that for Funeral Services held in Chapel's a maxium of 50 people (roughly) will comfortably fit adhering to the new guidelines. We encourage every family to take advantage of the free live streaming/recording facilities that are available in most Crematorium Chapels. Please remember that this has not come from the Funeral Director/Venue but the Government directly. To the hoarders of Masks, Hand Sanitiser and Disinfectant, Stop. Just stop. The government does not see Funeral Director's as an Essential Health Service, therefore we do not qualify for any special PPE. All of our suppliers are sold out. At the moment we get these things from where you do. So when you are at the Chemist or the Supermarket...take what you need. Don't hoard Masks, Hand Sanitiser or Disinfectant please. We are doing our best to serve you in crisis when we have our own vulnerable family at home. We are and will be forced to be in crowds rationing PPE if not wearing any at all. If you have excess... please think of donating it or selling it to a Funeral Service Provider. We need help to keep you safe. Thank you.

As we believe that a funeral service is an essential part of the grieving process. We intend to remain open to conduct funeral services for those who need us in Brisbane and South East Queensland. While it is understandable that funeral services will be affected by the limits placed on such gatherings to a total of 10 people. We would suggest ...utilizing our small service room for funeral services where you, close family and/or friends can say their goodbyes. By providing this option to you, it may help with processing your loss and you won't have to wait for a memorial service at a much later date.
