25.01.2022 We said goodbye to Sam yesterday. By pure luck we ended up with 1 spare seat... We received a lot of help and understanding from the family to make this happen. There was also a link so that relatives around the world could see in real time.... thank you to all at St. Charles Borromeo in Ryde in making the day orderly..
24.01.2022 We live in unusual times. Despite the chaos around us, some parts of our lives will still be touched by the sadness of the little ones that never drew breath. Baby Angel and Baby of Ramala, I trust your tiny wings have taken you to a softer place.... Your parents are hurting, you will never be forgotten. May you find the right place to live.
24.01.2022 Neville, Neville, Neville. A knockabout guy according to your son. Different words were chosen by your daughter. I really shouldn't smile but I had to.... Your history had some blots on it, but in the parlance of all my school reports..'could do better' rings a bell. A community will say goodbye as soon as we can. Until then, try to fix the air swing and avoid the bunkers.
24.01.2022 just hold in your heart for when the time is right..
24.01.2022 In these worrying times, inevitably grief will pass our door. Whether virus, old age or other forms. Our elderly are at risk. Large groups are being dissuaded (or banned). Should a family member pass away in these uncertain times there are options for you to investigate to provide the dignity that a funeral may offer under limited exposure. Call your independent Funeral Director and see what they can offer.... Offer up your thoughts to those in nursing homes that are in lockdown with no visitors allowed. This may be a very confusing time for them.
22.01.2022 Sage advice....
22.01.2022 You'll find Funeral Directors pop up and you're not familiar with their background, ethics or service. I get asked this question regarding my own business, as families need reassurance that their loved one is being held in soft, caring and comforting hands. So today, I offer up the background behind myself and the formation of The Little Funeral Company.... I came to the northern beaches in the late 90's. My wife and I and our daughter moved to Bilgola and became part of the community through our daughter's Kindergarten and following that, Bilgola Primary. At that point we joined Nippers at Bilgola, as all the local kids had the beach as their front yard. So I ended up being an Age Manager, then Age Manager Coordinator, then Nipper Chairman. BBQ and other services at the club followed whilst my daughter went from Nipper, to Bronze, to Resus, to Spinal to IRB. In the off season was Soccer with Avalon. Probably too noisy from the sideline, but hey, that's what dads are for. Behind that was my life in advertising, as an Art Director in high end Pharma... where detail is important and regulations and commitment to a product or service is paramount. At the end of this career I was working at home and the GFC took my overseas clients away. Rent need to be paid and an ad for Ann Wilson Funerals at Mona Vale took my eye. I started as a Funeral Assistant, moved on to Funeral Conductor whilst learning the vocation including the diplomacy of Home Transfers and the consolation of grieving families. 8 years passed. I grew, I learned, I did the long days, long nights. On December 15 2015 I left to start my own Funeral Business where I had a more personal input. Today I am still here. There are new firms coming opportunistically into the vocation without the depth of experience and knowledge of some regulations. At a time of need, always ask questions, ask for references and check the history through sites like www.ezifunerals.com.au or similar. Feel free to call on 0458 456 857 or visit www.thelittlefuneralcompany.com.au I have a strong community involvement background and I'm proud of it. So, there's a potted history... I don't apologise for my silver hair. LOL

06.01.2022 can anybody help?
06.01.2022 Pooh woke up that morning, and, for reasons that he didn't entirely understand, couldn't stop the tears from coming. He sat there in bed, his little body shakin...g, and he cried, and cried, and cried. Amidst his sobs, the phone rang. It was Piglet. "Oh Piglet," said Pooh, between sobs, in response to his friend's gentle enquiry as to how he was doing. "I just feel so Sad. So, so, Sad, almost like I might not ever be happy again. And I know that I shouldn't be feeling like this. I know there are so many people who have it worse off than me, and so I really have no right to be crying, with my lovely house, and my lovely garden, and the lovely woods all around me. But oh, Piglet: I am just SO Sad." Piglet was silent for a while, as Pooh's ragged sobbing filled the space between them. Then, as the sobs turned to gasps, he said, kindly: "You know, it isn't a competition." "What isn't a competition?" asked a confused sounding Pooh. "Sadness. Fear. Grief," said Piglet. "It's a mistake we often make, all of us. To think that, because there are people who are worse off than us, that that somehow invalidates how we are feeling. But that simply isn't true. You have as much right to feel unhappy as the next person; and, Pooh - and this is the really important bit - you also have just as much right to get the help that you need." "Help? What help?" asked Pooh. "I don't need help, Piglet. "Do I?" Pooh and Piglet talked for a long time, and Piglet suggested to Pooh some people that he might be able to call to talk to, because when you are feeling Sad, one of the most important things is not to let all of the Sad become trapped inside you, but instead to make sure that you have someone who can help you, who can talk through with you how the Sad is making you feeling, and some of the things that might be able to be done to support you with that. What's more, Piglet reminded Pooh that this support is there for absolutely everyone, that there isn't a minimum level of Sad that you have to be feeling before you qualify to speak to someone. Finally, Piglet asked Pooh to open his window and look up at the sky, and Pooh did so. "You see that sky?" Piglet asked his friend. "Do you see the blues and the golds and that big fluffy cloud that looks like a sheep eating a carrot?" Pooh looked, and he could indeed see the blues and the golds and the big fluffy cloud that looked like a sheep eating a carrot. "You and I," continued Piglet, "we are both under that same sky. And so, whenever the Sad comes, I want you to look up at that sky, and know that, however far apart we might be physically...we are also, at the same time, together. Perhaps, more together than we have ever been before." "Do you think this will ever end?" asked Pooh in a small voice. "This too shall pass," confirmed Piglet. "And I promise you, one day, you and I shall once again sit together, close enough to touch, sharing a little smackerel of something...under that blue gold sky." We all need a piglet in our lives. #mentalhealthmatters #EveryMindMatters #yourimportant #itsoktotalk #everylifemattersinfife #itsoknottobeokay

04.01.2022 I sit here and contemplate the world and its' social changes in regards to how we celebrate or dignify the passing of a loved one. With new laws covering meetings and room sizes we have to think outside conventions. At The Little Funeral Company we can offer solutions that cover services at homes all the way through to simple cremation with memorials after this mess clears itself up. Should a family member pass in the coming months we'll be here to help and guide you through ...uncertain times. In the meantime, stay well, stay safe and look out for each other in your communities.

01.01.2022 READ THIS BEFORE CALLING A FUNERAL DIRECTOR People are generally unaware that the majority of well known funeral directors in your area are owned by big funeral... chains listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. They work for shareholder profits, not for grieving families. https://ezifunerals.com.au/before-you-call-a-funeral-direc/ #funeraldirectors #funeralservice #agedcare #funerals #funeralhomes #funeralplanning

01.01.2022 It will never be known why Stella and her husband chose Australia as her new home so many years ago. She became one of the silent and unassuming women in the community, providing a loving and stable environment for her husband and single child, whilst finding work as a shorthand typist. Your departure was quiet. Your life well lived and remembered equally as quite. Go to your final rest, happy and proud.
