22.01.2022 When we experience the death of someone we love, you’re allowed to feel it all

19.01.2022 October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Did you know that there is no term for a parent who has lost a child - we have the terms widow and widower to describe the loss of a spouse, and orphan to describe the loss of parents, but what do we call a parent who has lost a child? This month has been created to break the silence around the loss of a baby or a child and to help people to understand that there is no getting over or moving on around this. Parents will grieve, and they may grieve for a life time. There grief may come and it may go, but it always close to the surface, even if they wear a smile. And if you can not understand that grief, or why they can't get over it, then maybe just consider yourself one of the lucky ones. #theywerehere #theymatter #atinylifenotatinyloss #pregnancyandinfantlossawarenessmonth

18.01.2022 Whilst celebrating the wonderful gift that is mother's day with my family and my own mum, my thoughts can't help but go to those families who I have worked with and supported over the years who have lost their mum's. Thinking of you all and just know, you only have to close your eyes and she is not too far away.

14.01.2022 Today we farewelled a man who loved life, loved his family and lived his life to the fullest. His death was unexpected and relatively sudden and took everyone very much by surprise. I worked closely with the family to create a beautiful, personal memorial and farewell, which included readings that his grandchildren picked, a beautiful memory table and some fabulous music by the Beach Boys. I was very humbled to receive this card from them at today’s ceremony. It’s nice to kno...w that even in life’s hardest moments that what we do as celebrants matters and can really make a difference. Feeling humble and grateful

13.01.2022 Today I conducted two beautiful funerals and we farewelled two amazing gentlemen, both in their 90's. Such an honour to reflect on their lives and send them off surrounded by their loved ones RIP Morrie & John

12.01.2022 In the words of Keith Richards "Music is a language that doesn't speak in particular words. It speaks in emotions, and if it's in the bones, it's in the bones." The music in a funeral ceremony really does speak to you in a way that words can never do. It's also the reason I love to find music with no words, so the music can really do it's job. I recently discovered this amazing Celloist's facebook page and I think you'll agree, the music speaks for itself.

11.01.2022 I have conducted a few funerals lately for some very much loved Dads #ballinafuneralcelebrant #funeralcelebrant #funeralreadings

11.01.2022 Grief and the way we grieve is different for everyone, but the one thing that is the same, is that grief is simply a pure reflection of our love.

09.01.2022 Selecting music to farewell your loved one isn't always easy. These guys Music Travel Love have voices that you could listen to for hours and do loads of covers of many of your favourites. You'll find them out on spotify

05.01.2022 Because grief can only exist where there has been love

04.01.2022 So incredibly privileged to help create this beautiful, bright and heartfelt celebration of the life of Nerolie and for all her beautiful family, friends and cupcakers. Rest in Peace Nerolie

04.01.2022 I just finished conducting a beautiful funeral for a 97 year old lady named Grace. I was asked by the family to write her eulogy ......... gasp!!! How do you speak about someone who has lived 97 amazing years on this planet when you've never even met them. Well ...... after a lengthy, fun-filled, 2 hour conversation with two of her sons, I'm excited to say that we did it. And everyone loved it. So much so that both sons told me they want me to do their funerals when the time... comes :-) And the other sons asked for a copy of what I said as they said it captured their mum perfectly. So I am currently sitting at home filled with much gratitude for what I do - knowing that you have helped a family say goodbye, with love, without regret and with "grace", is truly an honour. Rest in peace Grace

01.01.2022 When someone we love dies, everyone wants to help us out, in some way or another. Here’s a great little pictorial of some of the things you can do and ways you might be able to help
