23.01.2022 In conjunction with Potter's Field Funerals, it was an absolute honour to conduct funeral service today for a very much loved, caring and generous lady. Such an abundance of flowers received from all over the globe, there was not enough room to lay them all on top of the coffin. A huge Doris Day fan, "Que Sera Sera" rang through the chapel as mourners made their way to gather at May's final resting place. RIP May

12.01.2022 This story bought tears to my eyes. How two QLD ambos granted this woman her dying wish to visit the ocean just one last time, bringing her peace in her final hours. A great example of how a simple act of kindness can make such a difference to the life of another.
12.01.2022 I just love this....how to REALLY help others when they're feeling sad
11.01.2022 I think we need to understand this now, more than ever......
11.01.2022 So honoured to conduct funeral this morning for a quiet and sensitive soul, with a love of the sea and a thirst for knowledge and learning. Service took place at the beautiful Heritage Pioneers Chapel in Woori Yallock Gorffwyn mewn heddwch (RIP in Welsh) Malcolm ... www.heritagefunerals.com.au
11.01.2022 Part 2 of the series looking at the future of the funeral industry in Australia. How much do funerals actually cost? Much more that you might expect, with some funeral companies exploiting those grieving. https://www.choice.com.au//funerals-investigation-how-much
11.01.2022 So true..... one cannot help someone when they are in the the depths of grief, except by just sitting with them and being present.
10.01.2022 This is a fabulous article about death and learning to understand it. Death after all will happen to us all, and is as much a part of the life cycle as birth. Most of us hate talking about it, and yet the pain and confusion we are left feeling, by turning away from a discussion about it often causes even more grief after a loved one has died.
10.01.2022 A fitting Memorial Service in Springvale on Friday to celebrate the life of an incredibly kind and loving woman, who had the rare quality of only ever seeing the good in everyone she met. Rest in Peace Irene
06.01.2022 My Father died in May 2007 and on Father’s Day of the same year we planted a remembrance tree a native Corymbia Ficifolia (Baby Orange). His ashes were buried next to the tree. In the years that followed that tree grew at the most amazing rate. A huge flowering gum, upon which every January, brilliant large clusters of bright orange flowers would burst open. It looked like it was on fire. It became a feast for nectar loving birds in summer, sometimes as many as 15 cong...regating to feed at the same time. Sadly, two years ago, this beautiful tree died, but the photos relive my memories. My Dad's memorial plaque and ashes have been re-homed. My appreciation for my Father’s generosity cannot be measured. In addition, in the days following his funeral, I discovered my calling as a funeral celebrant. Oh how I sometimes feel how I’d love to be able to share my success with you Dad, because I know how proud you would be. Happy Fathers Day x
06.01.2022 ".......most people are hanging by a threadand our simple kindness can be that thread" What will be your thread today? A phone call to ask "how are you going?" or to say "I appreciate you", pay for the person's coffee behind you, a gentle touch on the arm to show someone you care, or a smile at the grumpy waiter?
06.01.2022 What a beautiful idea.... "Shelves for Life".... a piece of furniture that will follow you on your final journey

02.01.2022 A beautiful explanation of a burial practice that nourishes the planet, whilst providing healing and solace in a way that current practices don't. What do you think of this idea?

02.01.2022 Death and Dying.... it's going to happen to us all, but most of us really don't like talking about it. Launched in 2013 "Dying to Know Day" is designed to change this by activating conversations and curiosity around death. D2KDay this year is on Thursday 8th August.... click on link below and find out what's happening in your area. Talking about it won't bring about death sooner but you might learn something really quite interesting.... Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all knew what to say and do when someone around is dying, caring for someone who is, and those who are grieving. https://www.dyingtoknowday.org
01.01.2022 One of the highlights for me this year was seeing Travis Bell www.thebucketlistguy.com, live at the AIFP conference in Melbourne #tickitB4Ukickit His Ted Talk sums up why many of us die at 40, but live until 80!! Life's too short not to live your bucket list!!
