A growing number of smaller producers are intent on crafting a more diverse range of real Australian ciders from 100% locally grown apples and pears. This craft sector makes up a relatively small percentage of the overall and value, driven by consumers who were initially attracted to the commercia...l brands but are now seeking higher-quality, more authentic ciders." Once you have funk you never go back! They also had a bit more t say about it - "The cider market in Australia is dominated by large-volume brands produced on an industrial scale by multinational beer companies. These brands are made from imported apple-juice concentrate, reconstituted with water and sugar. Funk is getting a new home in the Swan Valley, Perth Western Australia Weve bought a winery called Swanbrook (formerly Evans and Tate Winery) located at 38 Swan Street, Henley Brook. Were pretty chuffed about it and you should be too! ... This new facility will enable us to produce a crazy amount (literally millions of litres a year) of your favourite funk products. There is still a bit of work to do before we open, but well be putting our spin to it over the next few months and bringing the property back to life in more ways than funkn one! Keep your eyes out on our socials for our opening date! Let's break it down in a few fun facts :) When we are talking cider, the fruit is an essential topic. Which apples you use can make a whole lot of difference in how the ciders taste - some Australian craft cider producers have even begun to identity apple terroir, creating distinct regional flavours to the ciders.
