20.01.2022 Good morning Funky Monkeys, I have taken on a new role elsewhere and will only be working from home once a fortnight. My night time appointments are unfortunately all booked out and I have very limited spots through the days... If you would like to visit Funky Monkey and feel funkified I’m working all day every day next week please contact me ASAP... Thank you for all of your continued support. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of my children’s lives through the flexibility that working from home provided. Thank you for being apart of my family’s lives as well- I know it can be chaotic Thank you for the laughs and tears and for brightening my day every time you all visited! 18.01.2022 I would like to say HUGE thank you to the clients I had to cancel yesterday afternoon and today Thank you for understanding that family comes first! It really is a true testament to how compassionate you are. Miss Marni was at the yoga studio with me and as it was raining and cold we decided to keep our socks on I thought it was a fabulous idea to stretch our shoulders by hanging on to the ropes backwards and leaning forward. Her feet slipped backwards and she fell f...lat on her face. (Mother of the year) There is always so much blood when hit in this area so it was a fun afternoon. Those yoga breaths came in handy.... As I am a home based salon, this can unfortunately happen from time to time where I need to cancel. That doesn’t change the fact that it can be disappointing. Thank you all again for being so beautiful and understanding- Marni is having the day off school to rest and ice, she thanks you most of all! See more

The heater I have has been working like a dream. It’s not your typical salon but the hairdresser has 19 years experience and is not your typical hairdresser either

16.01.2022 Before and Afters of the very funky and Beautiful Mihaela! Was so nice catching up with you properly today. I have taken a few different photos for the after shot to show how different this one colour looks in many different lights! We did a full head of magenta foils to break up the base and give it a lift of brightness while still keeping a bit of depth.

10.01.2022 Great news this morning! If you are booked between now and the 22nd please read this! I have some requirements as I am working from inside my house to ensure your comfortable during this summer weather. I have children and a husband that I’m mildly fond of that I would like to protect. ... I will be wearing a mask, I ask that you do too I will have sanitiser on the bench, I ask that you use it before your appointment Please reschedule if you are feeling unwell Please do not bring along children- unless the appointment is for them If your child is booked for an appointment but they have to wait, please make sure they wait with you. I usually allow children to play in my girls rooms but I will not be allowing this from now on. Please help me manage this. Remember- even if you think you don’t have covid, please reschedule if your unwell!!!! If you are uncomfortable with any of my requirements, I’m happy to reschedule. I totally understand that you may still feel a bit anxious with visiting our home at this stage. Look forward to seeing you all soon

10.01.2022 It’s with a very heavy heart that I will be saying goodbye to Funky Monkey. This may not be forever but I have accepted a full time roll elsewhere and will no longer be holding appointments for all of the beautiful Brisbane funky monkeys. I’m excited for my new change but I will miss everyone more than you could ever know. It’s been 20 years of hairdressing with the last couple of years flitting in and out. It’s hard to say goodbye to my baby that I built up from after the birth of miss Sofia but onwards and upwards. Thank you for your support, love and chats! I have loved it all

10.01.2022 I’m sure you have all had your FB inundated with the latest updates of corona virus today... Most of my clientele are from Springfield Lakes and I feel like it’s only a matter of time before we hear many other areas having been affected. I’m asking that if anyone is displaying any symptoms to please reschedule your appointment.... If you are waiting on results please reschedule your appointment If anyone within your home is unwell please reschedule your appointment I have 2 little ones and as I work from home, I need to look after their health first. I have sanitiser on the bench, as you sit down I will ask that you use it. I don’t have magazines, to help stop the spread I will be wiping down everything in between each client I will look after your health while in my home, please think of my family too

02.01.2022 Welcome all new Funky Monkeys, you are now part of this crazy family! I know that when you commit to a hairdresser it can be scary at first because there is a lot of trust involved. It’s only fair that I tell you a little about myself and my family- as this is a home salon. I have been a hairdresser for 19 years, trained with Stefan and as soon as I finished my apprenticeship I left with my husband to work in Scotland for 6 months. I came back and worked in the city, have ...managed a salon and have now worked from home for 8 years. Which I LOVE! I have 2 gorgeous girls Marni 10 and Sofia (Fia) 7 And an amazing husband Troy who is a primary school physical education teacher and the best coffee/tea/water maker there is I am also a children’s yoga teacher but don’t let that fool you, my house will not be zen- they may even come down for a chat from time to time..... I recently was working from a friends home in Springfield Lakes 1-2 days a week but have made the choice to work from home and be available to work more often.
