25.01.2022 And.... we're back!!! Mark Sunday 25th October in your diary - that's the date Funkya@Unkya markets will be returning! Things will look a different, so that we can be Covid-19 compliant and help everyone to stay safe - but we're back!... Watch this page for announcements about how you can help everyone stay safe and to hear which of our wonderful stallholders will be there. See you soon!

24.01.2022 Hi everyone! At this stage, our markets are still on tomorrow. We will check the radar and the forecast tomorrow at 6am and if we have to cancel, we'll put a post on Facebook then. But the forecast is looking promising, with rain in the early afternoon, and not the morning. See you tomorrow.... hopefully!

24.01.2022 It's almost Christmas!! Hopefully, it will be the most wonderful time of a very strange year! Funkya@Unkya market is on Sunday 13 December from 8.00am to 1.00pm - come along to buy some amazing "make it, bake it, sew it, grow it, recycle it" goods and support local, homegrown businesses. Enjoy damn fine coffee from our wonderful canteen volunteers and yummy Christmas home baked goodies, as well as bacon and egg rolls and other great food. Music will be brought to you by The... Shufflemen, a three-piece blues (and other hues) band with a wealth of experience in most genres of music. With a mix of originals and covers, you’re sure to enjoy the fun, laidback style of the band. We have a Covid-19 plan, which means that if you wish to attend, you must sign in, with your name and contact details - it is a condition of entry. Once at the market, please follow the directions of our Covid-19 marshalls. To book a stall, call 0425 205 737. See more

24.01.2022 Hi folks! Our next Funkya@Unkya market coincides with Anzac Day, Sunday 25 April. We will be holding our market as usual from 8am to 1pm, but we would encourage you to attend your local Anzac Day ceremony/parade either before or after coming to the market. At 11.00 am we will observe a minute's silence to honour and remember those who have served our country in the armed forces and related organisations. We will also have a container to collect donations for the local Legacy ...branch, who continue to provide such great support to the families of those who have served. At the market you will find the usual fabulous selection of stalls selling handcrafted, home-grown, local, quality produce and products. Grab a bacon and egg roll, sip on a superb coffee, and enjoy the music of Blue Moon as Delma, Pete and Alf provide a blues-y feel to the day. Your well-behaved dog is welcome to attend too, as long as they are on a lead and as long as you clean up after them. We will have face painting and a ride for the kids (please note, the climbing tower is out of bounds due to flood damage). Come and gather with your local community and donate to support Legacy - but do attend your local Anzac Day ceremony if you can too. Call 0425 205 737 if you wish to book a stall. All those who attend the market will need to sign in and follow all directions of Covid-19 marshalls - surely we all know the drill by now! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

22.01.2022 So far, the forecast is looking ok for tomorrow, so, at this stage, the market is on! We will post any changes on our Faceboom page. See you tomorrow- here's hoping!

19.01.2022 Sigh. It's with great regret that we need to announce the cancellation of the December 13 Funkya@Unkya market due to the forecast rain. Many of our stallholders have already cancelled, as they can't take the risk of preparing produce and products, and then not be able to sell them. We completely understand and support this. What a year, eh? It's one we will never forget!... The Unkya Reserve Committee of Management would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with our markets - volunteers, stallholders, musicians, service clubs and everyone who comes along. Thanks for making these markets so special! We will not be defeated - by rain, pandemics or mosquitoes! We will be back in 2021! In the meantime, have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. Hug those you love extra tight this year. See you all in 2021!

18.01.2022 It's a lovely day for a market! Come on over either before or after you observe Anzac Day at a local service. Our canteen is selling Anzac biscuits and Full Moon are about to start playing!

An earring was handed in - if it's yours, send us a message describing it and we'll organise a reunion! See you on June 27!

04.01.2022 The Committee for Unkya Market attended a meeting recently to discuss the August Market and the growing concerns of community transmissions within our State. It was decided after much discussion to cancel the intended Market to be held on Sunday 30th August, 2020. This has been a difficult decision and one we have not taken lightly. Our concern is that we are unable to know where people will be coming from to attend our Market and as we have no community transmissions that w...e are aware of at the moment, we do not want to be bringing people into our small community and taking any risks with our community's health. We are also aware that we have not been able to stage a Market at all during 2020. Firstly, in February the mosquito plaque at the Reserve and then, the dreaded COVID Pandemic. The most important responsible thing we as a Committee can do at the moment is to help keep our Community safe. Your understanding on this situation would be very much appreciated. We can assure you, that as soon as we can recommence our Market at Unkya Reserve safely, we will do so. We will be closely watching the situation over the next few weeks and will be making a decision based on the best Health information available at the time on the October Market. We will also continue to monitor what is happening around our State and our area of the Mid North Coast. Please contact us if you have any questions and please stay safe.

04.01.2022 Friends, there are four more chances for you to vote for Unkya Reserve to receive a $2,500 grant from Essential Energy. Please choose Zone 18, select Unkya Reserve from the drop down list, enter your email address and then click vote. We are currently in fourth place - the top six will receive a grant, so your support is vital! https://voting.essentialenergy.good2givegrants.org/ ... Thanks for the opportunity, #essentialenergy!

04.01.2022 The rain has stopped and the markets are on! Come on down from 8.30am and support local businesses! Great coffee, bacon and egg rolls, and all sorts of excellent products available plus the Haigh Brothets are playing. Please follow all Covid-19 instructions.

01.01.2022 Hello Funkya@Unkya supporters! It was SO exciting to finally be able to hold a market again! The rain held off perfectly and the vast majority of people actively and helpfully complied with our Covid-19 requirements. Thanks to you all. A quick explainer - we cannot hold our markets unless we have a Covid plan. The plan means everyone who attends needs to sign in, sanitise and maintain appropriate physical distancing. So if you would like to attend the December market on 13 De...cember, please enter through the marked entrance and sign in. It's pretty easy and we don't bite . Don't come across a barrier, just come through the posted entrance. We are more than happy to comply with the Covid regulations because 1. It's a way of caring for our community 2. It's a government requirement; and 3. It's not really a big deal Thankfully, we live in Australia, so you are free to disagree with these requirements. If you do, unfortunately you will be unable to attend the markets. Anyway, thanks to all those who came and haplily complied - see you in December.
