14.01.2022 Visiting Rundell's Mahogany Trail rides last Winter on our Warrnambool Roadtrip was a definite highlight for us at Funsearch. The staff were passionate and the horses were a dream to ride. We are sad to hear Rundell's Mahogany Trail Rides are at risk of closure after restrictions at the Belfast Coastal Reserve are preventing access to four key areas of the beach. This would mean other organisations like RDA Victoria - Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria... Warrnambool Branch could also be at risk. 05.01.2022 We think the best way to get to know Port Fairy is getting around in a carbon neutral electric Tuk Tuk on a trip with Darren from @ecotukportfairy! The vehicle is a very comfortable ride, almost silent on the road (due to being electric) and can sit up to six people with windows rolled up or down depending on your preference (we had them up). Tours take in the beaches, the river, the many significant buildings and the history, including the time that everyone ...thought the Russians were invading. 03.01.2022 We were very lucky to have been invited on a special tour with Ranger Leigh Boyer from @budjbimtours, at the Tyrendarra Indigenous Protected Area to hear the story of Budj Bim, learning about the local first people’s history and culture. What makes this very special is that the area was only recently awarded World Heritage protection as a site of great global cultural significance, older than Stonehenge. The local Gunditjmara People have lived in the area and have cared for t...he land for many thousands of years, designing the world’s oldest freshwater aquaculture systems and living in permanent huts and communities that entirely debunk the idea that Aboriginal people’s were nomadic.
