22.01.2022 On Saturday, Barossa PRCC students were care crows for the day as part of the Barossa Vintage Festival. Being one of 50 floats, it was a fantastic way for the students to immerse themselves and appreciate some of the unique events that rural communities have. Their tagline We don’t scare, we care. Catherine Nacey, Barossa PRCC program administrator joined as a traffic marshall for the day.

16.01.2022 As part of their visit to Victor Harbor today, Jonathan Craig & Robyn Aitken met with Dr Jason Bament, Clinical Director, South Coast District Hospital. Jason is a great supporter of the PRCC students and he and his team of ED consultants conduct regular teaching sessions on emergency medicine.

11.01.2022 Professors Jonathan Craig and Robyn Aitken visited the Renmark campus last week to meet with staff and students. Jonathan also officially opened four beautiful mosaic works by local artist Helen Burgemeister (pictured with Jonathan), which creatively depict the work of Flinders Rural Health SA in the areas of Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health, Research and Community Engagement. Guests included Berri mayor and deputy mayors of Renmark/Paringa and Loxton/Waikerie councils.

09.01.2022 GGT PRCC students were farewelled last night with a dinner in Mt Gambier. All staff were in attendance along with some community members, specialists and GP’s. A fitting way to end a busy and often unsettling year this year.

06.01.2022 ABC Riverland story. A new program in South Australia's Riverland will offer medical graduates the opportunity to complete their training as doctors in the region, described as a trial for the rest of Australia.

06.01.2022 APPLICATIONS OPEN TOMORROW If you are a medical, nursing or allied health professional working in rural or remote South Australia, you can apply for a grant of up to $10,000 per year for up to two years, to increase your clinical skills and scope of practice through training or study.

02.01.2022 A farewell BBQ at the Renmark campus was held Wednesday to farewell 2020 PRCC students. We wish them all the best for their future.

02.01.2022 The Barossa team farewelled 2020 PRCC last week - and in Catherine's words: "You have all achieved so much despite a little hiccup called Covid-19. We hope that you have enjoyed your time here as much as we have enjoyed having you here as part of our 2020 cohort - Wishing you all the best in your medical journey and hope that it brings you back to the Barossa some day (we missed you Kav Abeyratne)". The farewell was also an opportunity to give a huge thank you to Dr Adrian Griscti for his contribution as Clinical Educator to the Barossa PRCC for over 7 years.
