25.01.2022 Wonderful to see steady rain today here. 25mm so far which is great! Hopefully it falls on as many people as possible.

25.01.2022 Great job by Toowoomba trainer Lindsay Hatch and team with their montage of wins MOTOMISS ridden by Andrew Mallyon ran away from them 2 weeks ago to score and repeated it with a win tonight in Toowoomba KIRRA LASS piloted by Nathan Fazackerley debuted in Ipswich with an effortless win ... Congratulations to MOTOMISS’s connections and Tony Aceti with KIRRA LASS!

24.01.2022 Great photo used by Queensland Endurance Riders Assoc. for their end of year break up. These two horse are very successful in their field and both spell here at Furlong

24.01.2022 There was a lot of big races today in Australia that were run and won but one race in particular at the Gold Coast, made all of us here at Furlong Spellers jump up and down, yelling and cheering. That horse was the Alyssa and Troy Sweeney trained gelding Bacio Vincente. "George" as he is called didn't win, but he rushed home for 3rd in the fastest 1200m of the day. George is such a lovely type from the mare who resides at Furlong in Khasahn. He is a full brother to the... very smart King Klaus 7 starts 4 wins 2 seconds 1 third and winner, Winning Kiss. So it was just great to see Bacio Vincente overcome some setbacks to show he is going to shine in the near future. A true testament to the talent of Sweeney Racing for all they have done for this young horse. Alyssa Sweeney Alyssa & Troy Sweeney Racing

23.01.2022 HOW GORGEOUS IS PRIVY About 18 months ago, Privy Chamber arrived for a spell with a niggling sesamoid injury. He was a nice little horse without any standout features, no bling and not a stunner. After vet checks & a scan, he was deemed unfit for racing & he became a horse looking to be rehomed. Time passed, photos were sent and no one was interested. ... Enters the wonderful Kat Shearer, who after receiving a call for help, came to pick him up with the view of giving him a few rides just to see where he was at with his education or lack of, as he was only just 3 and had very limited training. Her plan was to move him on as a project horse for the right person, however after working with him for a week and 5 interested parties failing to inspect him their love affair blossomed. In 10 months, Kat has taken on a horse that had barely done anything since being broken in (12 months earlier) to now doing traverse, shoulder in and canter pirouettes. All at just 4 years and 2 months old. A phenomenal achievement by a wonderfully talented rider and an equally gifted horse. This is a dream come true for all involved and the best outcome is that he is loved Gollan Racing

22.01.2022 Many thanks to Gollan Racing for this opportunity it’s very much appreciated!

22.01.2022 TULLIO's win today

20.01.2022 We are buying dairy calves and hand feeding them. While they are very small they will have access to a nice warm home indoors. These calves will grow up here and there primary use will be to reduce the fuel loads (and no smoke) in some paddocks where we can't have horses grazing. Caring for our land and creatures on it are paramount to us always. Something our state governments need to learn. A big thank you to the Bunya People's Aboriginal Rangers for the great work they are doing, particularly cultural burning.

18.01.2022 Rain Rain Pouring Rain. Just so great to see the heavens open up. This is some of the best October rain we have seen here. Let’s hope we start to kick drought to the curb like the old timers always said!

17.01.2022 Golden sunset on our spelling yards and busy irrigation of our oats crop.

17.01.2022 The QTIS Pallarenda Stakes in Townsville is the first 2YO race in North Queensland. Yesterday a very smart filly in Keys Please, won this sort after event in a cracking time of 57.81. A full second faster than the boys!... Congratulations to Trainer Ralph Baker, Jockey Graham Kliese and owner Rob Roy. Also many thanks to Brett Baker Racing Stables in Toowoomba for entrusting us to have Keys Please spell here.

16.01.2022 Happy birthday Raz Atkinson hope you have an amazing day! Love Kels Atkinson, Dan and Jim.

16.01.2022 A wonderful Wednesday at Furlong with a rainbow after rain

16.01.2022 Congratulations to the Black Soil Bloodstock team and Gollan Racing for the supreme effort with The Actuary. It has been a pleasure to contribute in a small way to her success yesterday and look forward to the future with these groups. Thankyou for the opportunity to be a part of the ride.

16.01.2022 TULLIO, YOUR A STAR The horse with little or no racing proposition early on, now has them all talking. After a lengthy break at Furlong Spellers following knee surgery, Tullio returned to the track for leading trainer, Tony Gollan. ... Today piloted by Jim Byrne, Tullio went 4 from 4 in a very powerful win in the Kirin BM 90 over 1050m. Congratulations to Tullio, his patient owners and everyone that has worked so hard to see him reach his best.

14.01.2022 SUPERSTAR MOTOMISS It’s great to see talented filly Motomiss pick up the prize tonight at Toowoomba. The win is 3 in succession for Motomiss and kicks off a premiership winning night for top trainer Lindsay Hatch.

14.01.2022 What a star Tullio is in bringing up his 3rd straight win with an amazing run at the big Sunny Coast Metro meeting on Saturday. It's taken many months away from the track but it's being rewarded now.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to our Toowoomba Regional Council for investing the use of Indigenous Fire Burning Practices for our region.

12.01.2022 Trail of Glory scored a great win in the Benchmark 70 tonight in Toowoomba with a top rode by Justin Stanley. It’s a nice result for leading trainer, Lindsay Hatch and team! Special shout out to owner, Alan Atkinson. Alan has raced and bred many good horse over the years and his final runner is Trail Of Glory. She has now had six wins and hopefully more to come!

12.01.2022 In a "fitting tribute" to a generous grazier, the @Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia names plane in his honour.

12.01.2022 Just wonderful to see rain falling in so many areas including our place. We just finished planting millet in many of our spelling runs here. The timing should be great. I took this photo yesterday just east of Furlong on my way back from picking up lucerne hay.... Stocking up in case we get rained in.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to Lindsay, Tracy, Jade and Tom Hatch and all the Hatch Racing team on the dominant win by their mare Jadentom in the time honoured 2020 Toowoomba Weetwood. We are so happy and proud to care for the smartly named Jadentom when she visits us.

09.01.2022 Our gorgeous boy, Goldie aka Unlikely Story is a chronic wind sucker so to protect his teeth, in his ensuite shelter, we lined his cattle rail with rubber. He is in this yard as a babysitter to a youngster that needs his companionship There is nothing we wouldn’t do for this horse! God we love him to bits! We think he is our third child!

09.01.2022 Great win by Tullio for Tony Gollan and team today at the Gold Coast over the 900 metres. Tullio's win is a great reward in patience by all concerned, as he was sidelined for well over a year. Interestingly the run of the day was perhaps the fast finishing For My Annie for the Lindsay Hatch Racing team. Both horses were spelled at Furlong. Congratulations to all involved! ... https://www.racingqueensland.com.au///gcst/20200612/race/4

08.01.2022 Great to see the Bunya People Rangers using there fire knowledge to conduct safe planned burns in the area. Doing burns before it gets to dry is something the government experts in charge often don't understand.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to trainer, Matt Kropp and all the team at Kropp Racing, The Kelly family and the great ride by Kate Cowan. Rosie Posie you are a star! You may be small in stature but you are fearless. We are always grateful to have Rosie and the place getter Atouchmore here for their spells.

08.01.2022 Our six dairy calves are very quite, happy and growing up fast. Today is their first day without milk so they are now big boys and loving the green oats we planted. In another month they will be our grass trimmers to reduce the risk of fire this summer. ... Overlooking the mob is the I Am Invincible x Andromache filly.

07.01.2022 Great trainer and team We will be cheering loud for all your runners tomorrow. Good luck!

05.01.2022 Flash Aah was sent here after being sidelined by a serious hock injury in Brisbane. He spent many weeks in a walk out box and was bandaged for 3 months. He was always a great patient and liked by all of us. This very talented Lucas Cranach gelding returned in great style to win easily at Dalby first up after having 18 months away. Congratulations to all involved in this win We are very proud of you Flashy!

01.01.2022 What a great day for trainer, Lindsay Hatch and owner, Tracey Hatch when Jadentom ridden by A Mallyon powered away to win the TAB Open today at Doomben over 1110M. The win is Jadentom's 10th victory from 25 starts.
