25.01.2022 ** TWILIGHT MARKET LOCATION CHANGE ** Due to the unfavourable wind forecast for Friday evening, we've made the decision this afternoon to move the Friday Night Twilight Market event from Patrick St to the Whitemark Showgrounds. Pie competition entries should now be dropped in at the Tea Rooms at the Showground between 4:00-5:00pm... We have great support from our local foodies in attending the market this year : The Cafe in the North Food Van will make its debut appearance, Parns Thai Kitchen, Claus Wilkens, Toni & Emily Wood, CateCooksfi, Lions Club of Flinders Island Inc., Furneaux Coffee, Churro Chicks, Rachels Chocolates and Klugs Cakes. Bars will be run by Interstate Hotel and Furneaux Distillery with local stalls from Vanessa Grace, Blue Rocks Soaps and Essentials and Flinders Island Olives... and face painting for the kids! The market starts at 5:30pm - with local and visiting musicians playing throughout the evening. See you there :) pic by Vinna Cole

Enjoy a spectacular lunch of Flinders Island produce prepared by local chef Cate Hardman. BYO drinks, a hat, sunscreen and a blanket or chair to sit on! Bring your dancing shoes, but please leave your dogs at home.

Instead, this day is acknowledged as ‘A Day of Reflection’ and kept free for community members to choose how they wish to spend it. #ReflectShareCelebrate

04.01.2022 Join Cheryl Wheatley and Thomas Wise on Thursday 30th January in a sharing of spoken word and song in the dining room of the Flinders Island Interstate Hotel The evening will be split into two parts; 7.45-8.15pm: Live performance by Cheryl and Thomas. 8.30-9.45pm: Screening of Cheryl's solo theatre show 'Queen of the Snakepit', that had a sell out season at the 2007 Ten Days on the Island Festival. Queen takes the audience on a tour of the island through 4 characters, captur...ing the beauty and harsh realities of living on a remote island. Cheryl will give a brief talk about the process in making the work and how her families stories and 'real life characters' inspired her to do it. Bookings are ESSENTIAL as the seating is limited to 40 people. Please call/text Cheryl on 0438 312 723 if you wish to; Book a table for dinner & show; Book just for the live performance and screening. Proceeds from the door will be donated to the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) to assist in the Bushfire Emergency.
