23.01.2022 Just returned this beautiful gentlemen’s robe home. We enjoyed the challenge, reproducing the faux burl panels, see the pictures. It was great fun and rewarding using our traditional hand skills. The depth of the maple doors is amazing! What do you think?

21.01.2022 Interesting read! Who would believe upholstery would become a rare trade! It is now rarer then French Polishing, with Trade training close to disappearing! When the old craftsman’s are gone who will bring our lounges and chairs back to their former glory!!

16.01.2022 We’ve been busy fitting out the new workshop as well repairing, restoring and conserving our clients treasured pieces at the old workshop.

14.01.2022 We just had the pleasure of restoring this Edwardian chest of drawers. It has sentimental value to our client and had been coated in the 70’s, with Wattle antique finish. We carefully stripped the paint, carried out repairs, prepared the timber to maintain the patina. We than traditionally hand polished using a bleach shellac, which has bought out the hoop pine with a beautiful glow. It will be treasured for the next 100 years!

11.01.2022 We were lucky, to be asked by a client to restore this checker table. It was from Pooly’s Hotel, now Walsh’s in Queanbeayan. The vinyl was removed and Tara reproduced the checker board with hand cut native veneers. It was than hand polished, using black Japan to add a modern touch. I love the result! What are your thoughts
